I used to watch beauty pageants specially Ms. Universe. I even would stay up all night just to watch who amongst the candidates would bag the crown. I like to watch it with my gay brothers as they really have so many remarks about the candidates which I really find amusing. We usually have our own bets and really cry out loud when they win. I remember we were really screaming when Miriam Quiambao competed and almost bagged the crown. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm with pageants have waned as I am busy with my work and raising my own family.

I only watch beauty pageants for one reason - the fashion and the jewelry. Aside from that I don't really watch or pay attention to the candidates themselves. I feel that this kind of contest are just for show and is really scripted. Maybe it's the hype or the hypocrisy that I am seeing. I know that some contestant really have some advocacies but their methods of producing some attention or hype to it is pretty reliant on their looks and their standing in the competition. Also, a lot of these beauty queens are just literary good-looking with little or no wisdom in their permed hairstyles. I just enjoy the evening dresses and the national dress but I don't expect too much from these ladies when it comes to the question and answer portion.

I hate beauty pageants. I think they degrade women and are sexist. I occasionally watch for a minute, but then I stop watching and feel sort of dirty.

I never watch it. I think that it is so dumb and I don't understand the point of it. Plus, the girls always say such stupid things that it makes me feel depressed about the intelligence of mankind as a whole.

I enjoy watching different beauty pageants. It is not something to shun or be ashamed of. there is more to a beauty pageant than the swimsuit competition.

I use to watch i for entertainment purposes and or nothing of interests was on at the moment. I find however, that not that many actually have talent, and or a great with public speaking.

These beauty pageants seem to be so false and I think should be done away with. Recently there was the Miss South Africa contest and there was not much hype about that. I hear interviews with some of the women who have won these world contests and they all want to save the planet or have world peace. Is there something wrong with them not wanting to be themselves.
