The only good news for the indian fans is that, Sachin tendulkar will make his return to ODI after a long gap.
The last match he played was the 200 knock.
but two good openeres Sehwag and Gambhir has been ruled out of the odi series due to injury.
so who should open for india??
sachin- murali vijay
murali vijay- partiv patel
partiv patel-Sachin
or will the selectors make a call for dinesh karthik?
i am sure that the selectors will not select uthappa,so partiv or karthik have a fair chance to get into the team.

Hi venkit,
So Gambhir and Sehwag would not be around during the ODIs. The question here is who would face the opening bowlers? Sachin is not a problem but who to accompany him?
The combination you have made would make it somehow there for there are not so many options available.

Muralivijay and Pathivpatel will be ideal for opening for one day series

In the absence of both Gambhir and Sehwag, it is a great opportunity for two CSK flat track bullies, Vijay and Raina to make their presence feel in the Indian team else they are not going to be part of the final Indian team. Moreover it is also a great opportunity for Rohit Sharma to show his worth that he really deserves a place in the Indian team. I think Sachin will open with Vijay or with Rohit Sharma.

With the team looking to finalize the team for world cup, I am sure they will fly in parthiv patel to see how he can perform against quality fast bowling.
The only option seems to be Murali Vijay. Shikar Dhawan will most probably miss the cut because parthiv grabbed the last opportunity with both hands.
Sachin is obviously the other opener. He like to open the innings & team management will not dare to go against his wishes.
