Once again my computer has been infected by viruses. I took it to my brother's,the computer programer,to clean it up. So is why I am not on Mylot alot the past week. Anyway my brother tells me my computer is infected by a boot kit! I am like what the heck is a boot kit? I looked it up but I still don't understand it all! Yikes! What next? I can't keep the computer from being infected! This is so frustrating!

That is the first time I heard of that virus, but then again I am not to familiar with any of them. Honestly the way I try to avoid viruses is by avoiding opening any e-mails from people I don't know and avoid opening any spam e-mails. I have also tried to avoid to many sites. My brother just got a new computer and has had to reformat the hard drive almost three times, but then again he is always uploading and downloading things and that is the worst thing you could do especially with some of these sites. Luckily I haven't had that problem and I hope I don't in the future.

It happens and the worst part is that is sometimes even happens with sites that you wouldn't expect it. I recently downloaded the AVG anti-virus software just for that same reason. I had that happen with me just a few months ago I even had to change my names both on Facebook and AOL.

I have my computer back and my brother just put the Microsoft anti-virus ware on. He told me that no matter what anti-virus ware you have on your computer it can get viruses or even hacked. You can be as careful as you can be and it can still happen! I'll be careful and use the free software!

I really have no idea what that is myself. There are just a lot of malicious things and tricks now more then ever. Even if you have computer security, you might be just a tad bit paranoid to go anywhere or do anything. At least I can be somedays. I remember a day where your computer had a virus and it was a much simpler manner. Now its become a far more complex process then it really needs to be.

It seems that the more technology advances the more problems arise! More and more people are creating more virues to mess up other people's computers! It sucks and I am sure the people that are doing this are laughing their heads off knowing what they have done! I do try to be careful and don't sway much from my normal sites! If it happens again at least I know my brother can fix the problem!

It for sure is a Root kit. It's a kind of virus, which is designed to open a breach on your computer to allow others access to it.
To be simple, it's a VIRUS, that harms your computer behavior and maybe your data.
You can do a lot to prevent this from happen. The very first security measure is to use an antivirus and keep it up to date. Also, be sure to use your common sense as your primary defense. If a site ask you for a download, think twice you really need that or not for example.

That is what I have learned since my brother fixed my computer! I had never heard of a root kit until this happened! I will try to be more careful now that I have my computer back!

Even my loptop used to get hacked lot of time previously. But after using norton, it gives me a real relief because I use lot of internet sites and so the chance of getting infected is more. I remember, previously whenever, my laptop used to get infected, there was only option for me...formatting. OMG!! I got irritated for that. So, I will tell that take the back up always, and use a very secure and good antivirus. And use internet carefully.

I have no idea what boot kit is all about. Some sort of new name for the new generation of virus something like that. I hope that you can get your computer fixed, and we might share some of your experience with those virus infected detail. How your brother actually clean it by the way? Format the whole hard drive?

I will ask my brother to install as many free anti-virus programs as he can! I want to buy some good ones but don't have a credit card to do that! I try so hard to not get viruses on my computer but it still happens and this time with something I never heard of! I am befuddled!
