Are social networking sites good for our society?

Yes, every new things could be good as long as people do not abuse it. It's for the people to make good of the things around them. Technology like facebook could do a lot to the young generations, there will be ill effects, that's we can't avoid, but as long as we know how to be in moderation,the harm could be in moderation too.

Well, it depends on how you look at it. Facebook have both negative and positive impacts. In personal my experience, Facebook has a positive impact. I used it to have contacts with my friends that are on the different parts of the world now. Also, Facebook had been a good place were like minded individuals flocked together to share their ideas without the need of seeing each other personally.

Hi singup, I find that social networking sites when used appropriately are very good and healthy. It gives us an opportunity to learn and share life with so many people of all sort of diverse backgrounds. It is those that are abusing the systems that are unhealthy.

I suggest watching the southpark Facebook episode. Facebook is a terrible thing for society. I mean i still use it and have a facebook and what not, but regardless, there are just so many things added into facebook, and you may think the more the better but honestly, i have enjoyed twitter more with just a couple of my closer friends. As its basically a constant chat between a bunch of cool people and non of the facebook bs.
