Did you ever visit a theme restaurant?

I once visited a cafe called "The old prison". The building was a prison in the past and when they started a cafe they decided to keep the name and turn it into a prison cafe. They sell "prison sandwiches", "prison meat" etc and there are still bars on the windows.
I haven't visited any other theme restaurants or cafes, but I have read about some of them like the toilet restaurant or the dark restaurants. At the dark restaurant everything is dark and you can't see the food that you eat.
Did you ever visit a theme cafe or a theme restaurant? What was it like? Which theme cafes or theme restaurants have you heard of?

No i haven't been in a theme restaurant.
From what you said, Prison theme, i guess it's okay as long as the foods are cleanly cooked and tasty , i will go for it.
However, i don't think i don't like going to a dark restaurant where you can only taste but not taste the food. i like to see my food before i eat it . That's for an appetite. LOL
Happy mylotting!

I have never been to one of those dark restaurants either. It must definately be a different experience to eat in the dark, and it would be strange to eat food without knowing what it is. I read an article about one of those restaurants and the owner said that the food tastes better when you can't see what you are eating, because you don't get distracted by the look of the food and you are able to concentrate on the taste. I am not sure if I would like to try it, in a way it could be interesting to try something different, but I am not sure that I would feel comfortable eating things that I can't see.

I loved 50's Diner. Of course, everything there would give you an idea what the 50's was like. Loved the waitresses in their rollerskates. Don't think I'd ever go to the unpleasant-themed restos. Too... much for me :)

50's dinner sounds interesting. I wasn't born around that time so it could be interesting to experience a place like that and get an impression of that time. I have never seen waitresses on rollerskates Unfortuneately I don't think that places like that exist in my country, or if they do, I have never heard about them.

I love theme restaurants. Orlando has a few really nice ones. Arabian Nights and Excalibur are very popular. You eat while you are watching the show. They have audience participation too.

I don't think I've ever been to a theme restaurant, unless all those seafood restaurants made to look like boats count! They're not really unique, though. I saw the dark restaurant on TV the other day. It actually looked really interesting and I would love to try it. I wonder if it really does enhance the taste. A prison themed cafe sounds pretty interesting too. I'm going to have to look for some theme restaurants in my area.

There is a restaurant in Canton called Cheeseburgers in Paradise. It is owned by Jimmy Buffett and set up to be like an island paradise. It is a fun atmosphere and hubby and I enjoy going there.
