But it is definitely not a common practice to apply those principles in those books. In fact sometimes it just becomes a plain obsession to read those books without realizing that we are not GAINING anything from them.
Lives will become so much more meaningful for us if we LEARN from those books and LIVE their message. Yes it is true that some principles are just too hard to understand and tips too hard to apply but even if we apply the simpler tips and understand the easier principles, our lives can become a lot better.

Hi Mehreen, Reading motivational or feel good books has a purpose. It is bound to influence you in some little way without your realising it. A few months ago, I was reading an amazing book called Peaks and Valleys and even wrote a review about it.I was in a terrible state of mind at that time going through a low period, but somehow I got a lot of confidence and was able to turn all negatives in my life into either positive or neutral, and I feel it is certain points made by the author that kept ringing in my mind...So everything that you read with interest has its use , you only have to analyse it well 1 all the best and have a nice weekend

Hey Kiran. You are SO right about points lingering in your mind, certain snippets that continue to motivate you. The book sounds amazing. Who wrote it? I would love to read your review of the book. Mind sending me the link?

Hi Mehreen,I feel that any positive input is good for an individual since it keeps one's hopes up and puts one in a positive frame of mind...The book 'Peaks and Valleys' was written by Spencer Johnson, have given the link below for the review I have written about it ...All the best

Yes I definitely agree with you. I love reading those books too. And for a while it does motivate me but not enough to really make a change in my life. I also think that reading anything is useless unless you really understand it and apply it. But it's really hard to do that...

Lady1993 that's the entire challenge which only few of us are willing to embrace. But you know pal, in my opinion, reading such books on a continual basis can bring some degree of positive change in our routine and life without us even knowing about it. After all good company always has positive effects and the changes and effects are always absorbed by our subconscious mind. Just my observation.
