What does it mean to be a Filipino hero?

In the case of the Philippines, a Filipino hero is one who helps eliminate poverty, get kids off the streets, and provide affordable housing to the homeless. Will President Aquino turn out to be the one?

In general, in my humble opinion, to be able to be considered as a hero, one should have something contributed to the society which alleviates the situation towards greater good. Another criteria would be, if he was able to affect life of the others by helping them. Perfect example would be Mother Theresa and Princess Diana of Wales.
