It seems as if more men enjoy the out doors as far as living atmoshere goes even in warmer climates. Maybe this is only true from my educationa & travel point of view. Any ideas why this may be true or why I am completely off coarse in my thinking? Any ladies who favor remote natural rural tropical living as opposed to urban city life?

I love the out doors. I really prefer to live just outside of town so that I can enjoy the tranquility that nature provides. I usually have to live in town though. So to get me "fix" of nature I took up hiking!! Loved it!!

I live in town right now because it's where I am! I don't have the money to move presently. I am taking care of my son who was injured in an accident. I realy don't even get to get out very much at all. I really prefer to hike alone, but I have taken lots of different people with me over the years. I haven't gone on a long hike alone since I got injured one time. I was alone and way out in the woods and so I decided the long hikes were better with company!

Good idea I think need a good hike or even a overnighter to get my fix. Why do you Have to live in town normally if you dont mind me asking? Are you not free to live where you want in the Land of the Free? How long/far do you hike and do hike alone or with a partner?

Sorry godloves, but this lady cannot relate. I love the space and peace and solitude of the great outdoors. I absolutely hate the hustle and bustle of city life.
Yes, you can stick me on some deserted tropical island anytime!
I want...NEED my space! I want to touch the sky!

Hi godloves, nowadays even majority of kids tend to stay at home enjoying indoor activities like computer games, watching tv or video cartoons, etc. They feel reluctant to join in the outdoor activities. This is what I observe from children around. Might be this is due to the worry of parents that kids might have high rate face to risk outside the buildings. Further more they find the mentioned games are more interesting than to have outdoor fun in restrictive space. When these girls and boys grown up they prone to live their life in city as well where there are lots of their favorite colorful activities to join in.
After staying a couple of weeks in my son's apartment in a busy city, I felt quite bored as I had nothing I loved to do most of the time. People there loved hanging around the shopping malls, or spending their leisure sitting and chatting in the coffee outlets. Fast food outlets were available here and there. Streets were crowded with those dressed in latest fashion people. Seems that they were always in a hurry. Trees and flower plants as well as lawn were seen at the surrounding of the ground floor only.
I was long to see my hometown again after having a few days stay. I am used to the euphonic bird chirping outside the window when I wake up in the morning. I watch my flower and vegetable plants in my house compound while doing the usual watering and weeding in the morning. I would stay away from my laptop for a short while to refresh myself scissoring the grass under the rambutan trees. It's so relaxing and comfortable doing this randomly against the gentle breeze. There are streams with crystal clear flowing water somewhere at the mountain foot a few kms away from my place.
We could reach the destination just to take 15 minutes drive. It's a nice place to picnic during scorching sunny day. All sorts of tropical trees are available in either side of the stream. I'm happy that there are still people in all age love to have fun soaking themselves in the cool water, or sitting on the huge rock kicking the water and eating snacks, or chatting, ....chirping of birds and inserts are from time to time. Or you could do some cooking there via simple way lol...Anyway there are still lots of other interesting fun to stay in the natural and tranquil tropical wood
Happy posting and have a nice day

I think you have asked the ladies but I think the topic demands my answer also because it is about living places and I have my own choice also. I don't live in urban place because I can't afford it right now. I think I love the tropical place more than the Urban places where the life is very busy and one don't have the time to enjoy the nature. I love my place and I enjoy to live like this.

Its open for all. Thanks for responding! For some living in a rural setting is more of a money factor - leaving the city comfortably is unoffordable. I guess it all depends on your point of veiw, ones junk is anothers treasure.
I was just home for the holidays to a semi rural area in the snow covered rocky mountians. Life was full of cold feet lots of extra clothes and laundry etc. I am glad to be back in the tropics in my shorts flip-flops and t-shirt. even though it tropical it is still the city. I preferably plan to be in a more rural setting tropically someday to enjoy a bit more nature also. Happy New year!
