My co - worker this morning bragging about how often he talk his way out of a fine - loaded ticket. A couple of times he drove on interstate highway to another state, the police caught him speeding, and he talk his way out by begging. And somehow the police let him go or simply issued him a warning ticket. Also, twice he was caught at a stop sign without stop, and he talk his way out from that police. After I heard that, I just amazed by his persuasive skill. Somehow it was too good to be truth. Anyway, how often do you talk your way out of a ticket?

I've been pulled over about 20 times in my 33 years of driving. I've only gotten 4 tickets.

I am driving since thirty years and the only traffic tickets I got were given by automatic radars. During years, I was driving very fast and I have been caught maybe ten times : I have never been fined. I play a pitiful, talkative and very polite idiot, and when they begin to yell and go hysterical, I know that I have won the game . For the moment I have never find one policeman able to stay calm more than ten minutes when I play this part. Lack of training maybe ?

I really don't argue with police officer about traffic tickets if I really know I violated some traffic rules. But then if I think I don't do anything wrong then that is the time I argue with a police officer. I don't usually talk my way out of traffic tickets since most cops in my country when you don't want a traffic ticket you need to pay them.

I did once but it did not start out as a scheme. As I was going to work, at a hospital where I worked at, I was running late and was about 3 blocks from the hospital, when a school bus stopped and did not put their red stop sign out, so unintentionally I went around it and proceeded to make my turn. Long and behold instantly a police man puts his flashers on and speaker-ed me to pull over. My heart was racing, as I was going to be right on time as he pulled me over. He was a State older trooper. He immediately asked me for my drivers license and I all nervous start to rummage through my purse and could not find it. I handed him my state ID and insurance card. I explained oh my goodness I am going to be late. He asked where did I work and I explained at so and so hospital he immediately saw my work ID pinned to my blouse, the nerves in me made me begin to cry, when I saw his face I noticed he was very sympathetic. So I began to cry harder, not really just thought I milk it. The end to the story he said, oh.. please be careful and handed my information back with checking and I was on my happy way. LOL.. I was so lucky, for one I deserved the ticket, and two did not have my license with me that day so that would have taken me in for driving without one. Whoa.

In my state, as long as you check out as not having a suspended license, you have 48 hours to bring your valid state license to the courthouse. The ticket will be thrown out. I also found out that you have 20 days of driving on your old insurance and old insurance card when you buy a new car.

No here and we are both from the same state. Here you will either be taken in, or you will be ticketed and car towed. Then you show up on the court date with the proper license. I was thinking about a)being late to work and or b) having to take time off work to go through all that. So I suppose I was really lucky.

My husband has to be the best at this. I don't know how in the world he does it! He's talked his way out of so many tickets. Of course, I must add that not every officer falls for his charm. He's gotten his fair share of tickets too. The ultimate day for him was a July day about 2 years ago. He got pulled over 4 times in one day and didn't manage to get a ticket. It's hilarious...he knows every policeman, sheriff, and trooper in our area simply from being pulled over. They see us out and stop to chat. The man's truly got a talent for working his way out of normally much deserved tickets.

I guy I worked with used to be in the airforce. Excited on his final day he was driving home too fast and didn't notice the police car till too late. Instead of slowing down straight away he kept going for a bit. When he did pull over as the officer approached his window he started breathing heaviy and looking wildly around. He was still in uniform and told the officer he had just come from a sensitive meeting and noticed a car following him, when he saw the police car on the side of the road he deliberately sped past to get the officers attention hoping he would follow, and scare his imagined followers off. According to him, it worked and he got off. Now, can anyone tell me, is this true, or is it a story forces personel try to sucker civies with ?

I have been pulled over 5 times in my life. One was just to let me know I had a tail light out, the cop did not even try to give me a ticket for that one. I got pulled over when I first got my car and had temp plates. There had been a report of a car similar to mine that had been stolen. The third time, I was going about 6 miles over the limit. I did not try to talk my way out of it. I told the cop I was going fast, and to please quickly write the ticket. I had a screaming child in the car that I really wanted to get home and to bed. He just told me to slow down and be careful. The fourth time the ticket got thrown out. The cop claimed that I was in a construction zone and going 10 over. It was only a construction zone when workers were present, and the lights were flashing. Neither was the case. It got thrown out. The last one, I got a 75 dollar ticket for rolling through a stop sign at 2 AM. I went to traffic school for 4 hours, and it is off of my record.

Some people really have great charisma in convincing others. Well i don't have this kind of charisma so i just try to follow the rules all the time. But being a woman i think i have an advantage when a police traffic would try to ticket me if i have violated something. Maybe i just have to flutter my eyes or say sorry and say that i will never do it again. Police traffic have very soft hearts for women so i think i can get away with it. The good thing though is that i will never have to do it since i am a very obedient driver.
