A Boil...YUCK!!!

I have never seen a boil before. I've only heard of them (mainly from the bible). Yet, my aunt has one on her neck. My mom thinks it formed because of stress. I never knew stress could cause a boil (if that is so, I better keep myself de-stressed, lol). Has anyone countered a boil before? What should be done to get rid of it? I have no idea so I don't know how to advise my aunt. If anyone knows how to deal with it, I would appreciate your advise. Thank you in advance.

I had one on my face, an year ago. It happened because i got skin with big pores and i had one black point, so i tried to remove it and soon after that a part of my forehead started to look like a horn I went to doctor and they told me that they can make a simple surgery, just to cut my skin so everything, which is inside to go out. Actually i was bit scared and didn't want that at all, because i don't want to have scars on my face. What doctor told me is that i have to drink antibiotic and i bough one. They said in how many hours i have to drink it, so that's what i did. Antibiotic is needed because it can happen some infection of the blood, i remember that's what they told me. Also i made compresses with ihtiol - it's one dark cream with strong power. If you have something under your skin and it doesn't want to go out, there is nothing better than ihtiol, because the cream will suck what is under the skin. When i had to change the compress i used rivanol - what we use for cleaning wound. After few days i felt better, i started to clench the boil, but only with little pushing, not too much, because if you press too much, the place will become raspy wound. That's how i saved myself from surgery. What i know for boils is that they happen because we have sensitive places on our skin and if the place get dirty, it's starting to work under the skin.

On your forehead? Wow. That must have been embarrassing to have it there. I don't blame you for skipping the surgery. That seems a bit drastic. So antibiotics work? Good to know. I've never heard of ihtiol, but I'll look that up. Thanks for the suggestion.

Antibiotics are very important because it's inflammation and can affect our blood. We can receive temperature or other bad effects of the boil. Actually it was not embarrassing, because it had compress all the time, so nobody could see what is that exactly. In the ihtiol there is Ichthammol if that will help you to find such cream. It's with black color and looks a lot like a grease.

I think your aunt needs to be treated with antibiotics. Usually, doctor will give her Amoxicillin 500 mg capsules, to be taken three times a day for one week. Should be taken in between meals.

I had one right now lol..in my butt.. imagine how painful it is to seat and sleep. but I still do manage. On my first day I immediately went to the doctor because this is the first time Im having this thing. And I wish to not have it again. Its actually a bacteria caused it and not stress. The doctor told me it could be a pimple that was infected or a skin hair that was remove and then bacteria went into the opening that causes it. She need to go and see a doctor right away The doctor gave me an antibacterial meds and it help. So right now its almost gone. Thank God!
