hi lilredhead I learned at my mom's knee as I was a farm child during the depression and all farm girls learned how to cook quite early and I enjoyed it as I got all my mom's attention that way.I never took anycooking classes and what I did not learn growing up I did teach
myself as cooking is one of those things everyone should learn to do.After all we cannot always afford to eat out all the time.
My son learned how to cook and he often had watched his dad
as my husband was a really good cook.I am 84 and still love to cook'although here I do not get to do any cooking. lol.

i will write recipes daily which are shown in tv. i have written 9 books upto now ,by recipes which are shown in tv. i will also save recipes to my computer, recipes which are available and which are seen by me in net. sometimes when i am free in house,i will try those recipes .

A combination of a couple ways.
My parents divorced when I was young and I was able to learn from both of them as they both had different styles. I also learned a few tricks from my step father who worked as a cook to support himself while in school. Lastly I have used the Internet for recipes that I practice a little "trial and error" cooking with because I like add things and take things away from other recipes. I find that until you do it yourself you don't really know how to do it.
What about yourself, how have you learned to cook? Have any secrets?
