Yes - that's basically what article marketing is. Write and submit articles to the various free article directories with a link to your site/blog in the resource box. Doing this gives you lots of links back to your site (all part of seo) as not only the article directories will give you an inward link - if other site owners pick up your article you get a link back from that new site too.
