Every time I watch a television program I have noticed for a long long time that there are so many commericials during the program and if you have a d.v.r. where you can record programs when you are not home you can fast forward or cut out all the comercials and if it was a program that lasted one hour you will notice that that program without all the comercials will last about 29 minutes or less!!Have you ever noticed that?

Yes I have noticed this. I used to have d.v.r and loved it because I was able to skip the commercials. I am glad to see some commercials such as for new games or new products or even funny ones but after seeing them 8 times while watching a tv show they become boring and old. It is because a lot of commercials can become or are not entertaining which I do not understand. I find them pointless and tend to lose interest in some shows because of the commercials.

I agree and I only like the well some comercials during the Super Bowl because they are some of the best!! I do like some but after a while they tend to get so old played over and over it is like they can't think of anything new!!

We have satellite and with our pvr we can fast forward through the commercials on live t.v. so we don't even have to record it. I love that feature, but sometimes the commercials can be a welcome break to do other stuff xoxo Cyne

Hi. jah. I don't have an dvr on my TV, but I am sure that there are less commercials with having one. If I watch TV just as it is, there will be more commercials.

Yes, I've been aware of that for years. I used to watch a lot of PBS too and you can see the difference there, as at the end of a half hour programme, they'd have almost 15 minutes to fill in. I don't really get annoyed at commercials though, as I find it a great opportunity to run to the fridge, the bathroom or whatever. And sometimes the commercials themselves can be quite entertaining. xoxo Cyne

In the uk, you normally get around 40 mins of program for 20mins commercial. But what annoys me, partically on a channel here called dave, is when you watch a progra, like top gear for example that lasts an hour. They give it a 1 hr slot. So you actually miss out bits of the program. So say if its a proram u saw before, you will be like, whats going on, its missed out the bit i wanted to see again! It can get a bit annoying at times, but oh well

That sounds really annoying!I would be a bit annoyed too. That doesn't happen here in the U.S. But there are so many commercials it is awful and I hate when they repeat the same one twice in a row that is really annoying!! And it's like we sit there for an hour and maybe see 20 minutes of the program and the rest are commercials!! Have a good day!

I tend to record alot of things off the tv that are the sides that have the adverts on, as that way i can then forward past all the advertys rather than sitting watching them all the time.I have noticed that there are getting more and more adverts on the tv as well.

Gradually over time the shows get shorter which means more commercials. If you're watching an hour show you're lucky to get thirty-nine minutes although there are times when you might get a little bit more. I usually read during them.
