Recently, I had a discussion with a friend of mine and we came up to the topic of life. More precisely, are we doing our best? We also randomly came up with analogies to how we are living life, which is the title of this discussion. Are we good at what we do? Are we bold in our manner of doing what we do? So I now come to MyLot to ask you all that question. Ask yourself, are you a sharp pencil, being precise in what you do? Or are you a dull pencil, bold and thick? Or are you a pen? Please elaborate and be as descriptive. ;P We all enjoy reading different people's insight.

I would probably be the pen which goes quickly and smoothly over paper. I try to stay out of complexities, not get involved in fights but do take stands in certain situations. I am more of an idealist and want to enjoy everything the world has to offer thus the pen quick smooth leaves the mark but not enough pressure as i am not very fond of shoving my beliefs down people's throats!! i think my writing depicts me pretty well!

Now, would you say your pen has a lot of ink left? or you might need to get a new ink cartridge? or a whole new pen because you're not the fancy refill-able kind of pen??

I look to use a sharp pencil. they always give you the best results. it can seem pointless to use a dull pencil. It can make what you write less legible to read. When you have to guess at what is written, it can make things more difficult.

Seems logical, but a sharp pencil can also tear thru the paper if you're not careful. And remember, a dull pencil is also a bolder typeface font. If you ever notice, when you're mad or have just experience a rush of adrenaline, your handwriting becomes rushed and heavy, making your sharp pencil dull and writing in the boldness of a dull one. So which pencil are you? How do you live life? Sharp and precise, or dull and bold? Or maybe you're a pen? Please explain. ;P
***Disclaimer: I do not mean dull as in boring. ;P

I'm more like a pen, regardless of doing something right or wrong, if they have been written by pen, they cannot be erased. If I did something wrong I think I only put rough marks on a piece paper indicating it is wrong / mistake and I continue to write using a pen. If we are using pencil, well I believe if we did something wrong, we can just erase the mistake by simply say sorry and forget it as our handwriting was erased. If we are using a pen, we did something wrong, those mistakes cannot be forgotten as it will make a mark in our memory. I think this is how I view it when I read this discussion but it is a very good topic :)

So in the end what are you? Can you forgive and forget like a pencil can erase? Or do you remember your mistakes as well as others like a pen cannot erase?

Oh gosh, I would like to think I am more of a pencil than a pen . . . at least you can erase most of your mistakes and "do over" with a pencil - ha ha. Hmmmm - I think I can be both sharp and dull, depending on the situation. Sometimes I think I'm a pencil with a broken lead, trying to keep on writing with that frayed nub of wood - ha ha!! I also like to think I am a colored pencil . . . not just writing in grayness - it's nice to stand out at times! I guess I'm trying to say I'm really not a consistent person, so I can be any one of those writing instruments in the penholder!
