What are the means for a person to socialize?

If granted the internet be disabled for one day.
For those able to speak:
With no internet for a day, what other ways to interact with people?
For the speech-challenged:
With no internet for a day, with no chance to meet people face to face or by phone, how to have brilliant contact/discussion with people?
If you are with a person telling something like below do you agree with him?
Technology (internet) has its benefits, but when you take a look at how it has affected society in general and how people interact with one another, you will quickly see that it has a negative impact.
I think I will say something like: Yes internet has a negative impact, but please don't miss the positive impact.

Yes if internet is disable for a day then we do have other means to communicate. Mobile phones are always there. Even I think I won't mind going to people's place and sit for a nice chat on a cup of coffee. I personally like personally going and having a conversation rather than on the internet. But yes, with the fast paced life we are living in; it is not possible most of the time.

Well, the cellphone is still an option for people to connect and socialize without face to face interaction. Also, passing paper notes or messages can still be an option. The passing of an object to another person or a stranger is still a relative situation where people do connect but does not have an interaction with one another.
But mostly, face to face interaction or a passive approach of it are the tools of the people to communicate and interact if internet would not be available.

I use my cellphone to communicate via text message. I prefer this over calling or talking to someone face to face. Technology has completely taken over and the one movie that spells it out the best is "Surrogates". It is a good movie but makes you stop and think about how much our society depends on technology to function.
