Silly things we do and dont even realize

2 AA batteries inspired me to write this post, strange i know but ull understand.
Last night as usual there was absolutely nothing remotely good to watch on the TV so i started flicking through channels and the batteries on my remote started to die and didn't work properly.
As a result instead of going and simply changing the batteries i decided ill just sit here and press stupidly hard on the buttons in the hope that this would make it work again. Its only now i realize i do this all the time and i haven't a clue why when i know it wont work but i still waste 10 minutes of my life trying.
It makes me think of how many things people must do for no particular reason.
Anyone else do things like that? and what is it?

Well I remember when time when my computer would not start. So I started yelling at it. That obviously would not work. Still, I think that we do these things in vain hope that it would actually work. Perhaps one day they will. It is doubtful but you just never know. Still we do really silly things in. In that vain attempt, that desperate attempt that might actually make it work for once. Granted its not likely to. However, we can really hope that it might some day, somehow.
