This morning is a good morning. Why? Well, I'll tell you, but I'd like to know how you woke up this morning (whatever day you are reading this)? Friday I had a sinus headache. Saturday that went away and a migraine hit me. This one was particularly bad and I was throwing up and my vision was coming and going (the vision thing happens only rarely). My dad took my dog to his and my mother's home so I could just take care of myself. The pain was so bad I started to cry. The stress from the migraine had tightened my beck and shoulders to where I would make a movement and agony would shoot through me.
So this morning is a good morning. I woke up in no pain. And sometimes I forget how much I take for granted. What do you take for granted? And what makes you remember the blessings you have in your life, even if they are very few?

Glad you're having a pain free day!
I take a lot for granted honestly. I have perfect health, and I take that for granted. I never wake up in pain, just grumpy. I have a great family but I take them for granted too. It's easy when you feel stressed out and overwhelmed so often. I get really mad about our situation, like the fact that we never have money to do anything fun, or even buy munchies if we're in the mood. Or the fact that right now we're stuck in the house because we have no vehicle.. that really sucks!
I do try not to always be so negative, but it's not easy. Hubby gets negative very quickly over our finances. He grew up having just enough, and if they were hurting, his parents hid it from him. I don't think they ever did "fun" things like we try to do. They were lucky and they had family to visit every weekend so they never needed to spend much. We have nothing to do on weekends, so we try to find things, and that costs money. Hubby is just money orientated, I'm not cause I grew up with no money at all and never doing fun things.
Anyways, hopefully it will all change soon when I find a job! I'm looking for secretarial work now that I'm officially in school. I'm hoping just the fact that I'm learning about it will inspire a company to hire me.

Hi Ambi and Kats,
Hope you don't mind if I say something here.
I wasn't sure if I would ever get to say anything
to Kats about her situation so I wanted to say it now
cause the situation might not be brought up again.
I wanted to say that my family was in the exact
situation you're talking about, not having a car
for almost a year.
My hubby accidentally wrecked the
tire on a curb at night and we tried
to get it fixed and it would never fix right
cause something was wrong with the hub.
And, after we spent our money to get it fixed,
it still wouldn't work right and we ran out
of money to have it repaired again.
So we went almost a year with no car, just
walking to the store, getting a ride
with the neighbors, etc.
It's not easy! And, I know what you
are going through.
With me, I have just the one child,
and she is home schooled, so it's much
easier than on someone with more children
who are always having to get up
and go various places for after school events.
I can't make any suggestions on the car issue,
except to maybe check the local craigslist.org
or freecycle and request a used car or ask
around on those sites and see if you
can get someone to give you and your family
a ride out somewhere at least once a week
to a park or some place free that would also
be fun.
As for fun things to do at home, there
are a million things you can do from crafts
to board games to free online games.
We've been near broke for ever, and are
always having to find free and cheap things
to do at home cause there is no money to go out.
As for munchies, try homemade brownies
or homemade cake cause you can make a cake
up from basic ingredients for a couple dollars
even from a box mix and ice it.
Everyone would get a slice.
Soups, stews and casseroles stretch the food budget.
I hope those suggestions help, cause they've
helped keep my own family afloat during our
worst
economic times without a car or job.
And, to Ambie Pam, I am thankful
for my friends on Mylot, cause without them
I would be very sad and lonely sometimes.
When I was away from Mylot I really missed
everyone and when I came back, I realized
what I had taken for granted.
And, hopefully, I can get around and talk
to everyone again on Mylot.
As for health, I have bad migraines too.
Some days, they are so piercing, it's like
a needle in the brain.
So, i can identify with you on that.
I hope you get to feeling better.
Best of luck and good wishes to both of you.

The people in my life make me count my blessings. Online and in person. I woke up tired today, but I have had a long week of preparing for company and having company. I kept the grandkids yesterday, so that my daughter and son in law could go to a wedding of one of their college friends. That was the whole reason they drove down to Kansas from Minnesota. So I am tired for a good reason. I still have much more than many people do.

Glad to hear you had a good morning. :) I woke up this morning to my baby boy coughing pretty bad again, but he seems to be feeling now. I feel so much happiness every morning when I look at my baby boy. It's the best feeling to get him up in the mornings and I see that one tooth grin he has now. My life is filled with so much love. That's my blessing. :)

i work at night so i sleep in the day. when i woke up this afternoon, i felt like i'm about to be sick. It was raining yesterday and i had a hard time looking for a cab. but it's gone now. i just feel hot. hopefully this will go away later when i wake up. i cant afford to be sick these days. i have nobody to take care of me and i'm going to undergo an operation by next month. i need to relax myself and keep it well 'cause for sure am going to need more of it once my operation's done.

I know what you are feeling...maybe my pain is not as bad as your's but I have arthritis....in one leg it's really bad. All the joints, and sometimes they hurt so bad I can't sleep....taking ibuprofen doesn't even touch it....but for me it's usually just when the weather changes. I cherish the days when I have no pain. I do hope someday they can find a cure for your migraines.....I have only ever had one....and that was enough. I don't know how you live with them all the time!

I love those days when I wake up and I am not in pain. I miss those days. I don't get them very often anymore. I am glad you had a pain free morning. This morning I woke up with a sore back, but not too bad. That is until I fell back asleep on my son's bed. Man that thing is uncomfortable. I got woken up on my day off by one of my bosses. That part was not fun at all.
I think I take a lot for granted. I had some car issues this week and I had quite a few people who were willing to help me out. I sometimes forget with all the crappy people in my life that there are some people who really do care and are there for me if I need them.

hi ambie Pam I am glad you too had a good morning . sinus headaches are a pain in the you know what. I woke up at 4,dashed to the bathroon and was woke up by a care giver sort of yelling good morning Patsie. I lie there half asleeo and six am or not I fell back asleep woke up at 6;23 so still had plenty of time to get dressed for 7 am breakfast. Even my fasting blood glucose was good this morning. I took a few moments to thank God for my sons visit last night and for a good sleep and a nice new day. That migraine is so rough , I had those as a kid and a teen and later realized I was stressed as my parents were always at each other and yet refused to divorce. guess they enjoyed being angry at each o ther. But I would get stressed then naueasted and my head would ac he so bad and no thing my mom gave me made it stop until I actually threw up. I guess they were so busy quarreling they didnt worry about my headaches ;but when I married I never ever had another migraine. my husband was a really comfortable person to live with and he really loved me so much and I loved him back.No stress and no migraines, thank God for that. I know just how much it hurts.

Since my husband and I have seriously talked about our shortcomings and have forgiven each other, i learned to be appreciative of everything that i have and may have in the future.
Every morning i would thank him for letting me have another day again! I take trials each day of my life as something worth hurdling. The moment i was able to solve a problem or have surpassed a trial i would be so thankful to HIM.
There i go. . .maybe now you can more or less imagine my personality! LOL

I do not take anything for granted any more. When I was younger I too everything for granted but now in my "Golden Years" I give thanks for every new day that I am blessed with and the best of health to rejoice in the day.

I am glad you had a good morning, I had bad ones on Friday and Saturday, but today, (Sunday) it is good. I finally got my schoolbooks and quickly catching up in my work. I know it doesn't sound like much, but for one who is awful in math and not being able to do my math work for a week, that is a big accomplishment..LOL

This morning I woke up in a bad mood. About 1 last night my smoke alarms in the living room started going off. Not consistently, but just about every time I'd fall asleep. I got up about 2 and looked for batteries (9-volt), but I didn't have one in the house. Besides, I can't reach the smoke alarms in the living room, even with my 10-foot ladder. They finally stopped screaming about 5 this morning. So this morning, I have to run in to town and get 6 batteries (might as well replace them all) and borrow my neighbor's 12-foot ladder and change batteries. So to answer your questions directly, I take my smoke alarms for granted. And almost anything/anyone can make me remember the blessings I have in my life...and they are many. Just hard to remember it this morning, because the dogs laid on my head all night... I think they had a bad night too.
I'm glad you're feeling better today...
