Why does Jon Stewart suck?

Let me count the ways.
1.He doesn't use his real name, Jon Leibowitz. Why? Come on, Jon, we don't care about your background!
2. He isn't funny.
3. Did I mention he sucks?
And just for those of you out there that think Comedy Central is the same as MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you know, real news outlets, Jon Stewart himself says, "Neither his show nor his channel purports to be anything other than satire and comedy." This is from Wikipedia.

Nothing, because he certainly does NOT suck! However, I'll play along, just for fun...
1/ Your point is...? Big deal, like many in the entertainment business, he chose a name that's easier to remember. He sure hasn't tried to hide his "background" or the fact that he's Jewish!
2/ I guess "funny" is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I think he's hilarious!
3/ Did I mention I disagree...lol!
I don't know of anyone who thinks Comedy Central is the same as the news networks but Jon and Stephen Colbert both do great jobs satirizing current events. Now and then Jon does do something that the "real news" fails to do, such as catching Fox News when they tried to get away with showing the wrong clips for one of Glenn Beck's rallies.
By the way, Jon sure does a great Beck impersonation!

Annie, I think that Beck impersonation is the best piece of comedic satire I've ever seeen. I've watched it three times & couldn't stop lauging. (Three times is a record for me. I don't like comedy that much as a rule)

To answer your 3 points
1. Invalid as he is an entertainer and many in this line of work don't use their real names.
2. Opinion not a fact so invalid for this reason. So you find him not to be funny but then again you might also find Bill Hicks not to be funny but I find both of them to be really funny.;
3. Well lets see here MSNBC, CNN and Fox News. Lets start with Fox as they are easy to point as being well not only bias but hardly a news outlet. Prop 8 repeal Fox doesn't report the reason that it was repealed and the legal annalist mentions she could see find any legal standing and that this was just a activist judge move which was entirely untrue as they court refereed to prior cases and other amendments to the California Constitution as well as the United States Constitution. Fox has also on tons of occasions completely messed up stories as they only provided a single side of the story and not both.
MSNBC well they have Several self proclaimed Socialist working for them.
CNN has also had its issues with having competely messed up news cast.
Now for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart First it is marketed as a Comedy/ Entertainment show. But they do get all of their content and spend hours working on using the actual news of the day from either Fox News,CNN and MSNBC they share the same information with them the only difference is Jon Stewart twist things to the Left and we (those who watch the show know that) laugh at his jokes that he makes by twisting the information presented which is what makes the show interesting is that he makes fun of the other news shows. A few times when one of your "news" outlets have completely missed the boat Daily Show will slam them hard. Like when Fox News missed the boat on the polls and Jon Stewart had to slam them with not only clips of said person using polls to defend their point but also when they missed the poll numbers of the actuall poll. He makes the news funny and entertaining with out missing out on any of the information so not sure how they aren't a news outlet in your mind yes they are comedy but they also give some of the news in a satire way.

#1 he is an entertainer, most entertainers do not use their real name
#2 I find him very amusing
#3 real news outlets??? msnbc? really?
Jon Stewart makes no bones about being an entertainment show
My recommendation for you is to not watch him.

1) As many have pointed out, actors and entertainers often have stage changes. Name changes are the norm for them. I actually do care a little about his background. I think it speaks well that he is a graduate of William and Mary. It explains the intelligence of his satire.
2) Personally, I find him hilarious. He's one of the few satirists who makes me laugh out loud and I enjoy his skits.
3)Sour Grapes!

Let me guess you love FOX news and are a conservative??? John Stewart is funny as hell. The skit he did about facebook rocks. Wikipedia is not a valid source to quote for your information I can go in right now and change that page you quoted to anything I want it to say but I agree his show is political satire the funny thing is his show being about comedy shows the truth to situations more than those news groups especial that right wing nut job one that is partially owned by Saudi Prince.

I don't personally mind Stewart. He doesn't leave me in stitches or anything, but I realize the context in which he presents his brand of entertainment.
And I think he's a much better faux show host than he is an actor. I'm not trying to smash on the dude's movies or anything, but I certainly think he made the right career move.
As a stand-up comedian, I think he has decent material when he's not pulling the typical liberal celebrity nonsense and preaching high and mighty to the rest of the world.
The only thing that bothers me about Stewart is that he does seem to want to be taken seriously, but he stays safe in his wheelhouse in order to fall back on the "I'm only a comedian" bit if it doesn't work out the way he wants it.
I think that's a bit cowardly, but I'm also not making millions of dollars with a successful television show, so I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing.
