Like many others, Iv asked Jesus to come into my heart but felt nothing. I felt as if I was saved but still feared death and still sinned. My preacher told me that this was normal as we can never defeat sin with out the Lord on our side. But out of the blue (and I thank God this happened) I found this website that told me that just because I asked Jesus into my heart, dosent mean that I am saved. Now I belive that the reason is that I cant let go of my sin. PLEASE, PLEASE someone tell me how to let go of sin!!! I NEED JESUS IN MY LIFE NOW!!!!

All of us try to seek way not to sins and so do I. But with this world which full of sins, we see sins everywhere we go, it is very difficult things to do. Even the priest and church minister sins.
We can do our best not sinning. By follow the Ten Commandment the best we can. Pray always to GOD for repentance.
human nature made us keep on sinning but by grace of GOD we can turn away from our sins slowly and eventually save by GOD.

Thank you. In the past I used to ask for forgiveness but would turn around and sin again. It felt as if I was takeing advantage of the Lord. But what makes me feel better is that God has power over the devil. And that no matter what, God will always win!!

Wow that's really nice to hear, that you need Jesus in your life. Have faith that you are saved and you are. Don't worry if you don't feel it, just believe it. Salvation is not about feelings or emotions it's a conviction of the heart. It's like a father's love, you may not feel it, but you know that your father loves you.
Now the letting go of sin is not going to be easy, it's a lifelong process. You have to deal with it every single day of your life. God said that in this life there will be tribulations. Just be steadfast in your faith and don't let go. Keep on praying and asking grace to endure.

To turn away from sin is simple yet difficult. Simple because we can decide NOT to commit what our respective faiths consider to be sin. Difficult because, mortal as we are, we are bound to sin. For instance, someone accidentally bumps into you, disturbing you, and you "unconsciously" swear out to express yourself, not intentionally. Well, you will have sinned.

Think of God as a very intelligent Spirit who loves unconditionally. Unconditional Love is all encompassing and never asks for anything in return. God Is Love! Thats the beginning and the end! Would you threaten your child ( that you love unconditionally) with fire and brimstone if he/she didn't do your bidding? No you would not (you would forgive completely) and so does God. And a Loving God will go even further for his Children. He not only forgives past sins, but also future sins even before they are committed!
The Greatest sin in this world is, and has been committed, by those people who pretend to be the most religious, and who have the most to gain (in worldly possessions) by their religion! The Pope (for instance) is the richest man by far, who has ever set foot on this Planet. And he pretends to be God's emissary on earth! How foolish can this be?

Faith and belief in your religion can help to turn you away from sin. Living the kind of life that God expects from us will shun sin from our lives. If we do sin, we need to ask god's forgiveness. He will be there when we call.

Always pray for the Lord's guidance in everything you say , do and think. In addition, you avoid the things that makes you sin.
For example, if your friends are fond of gossiping you could probably insinuate that it would be nicer if you do some things that could divert their attention from gossiping. If still they persist, then probably you can find other nicer friends.
God bless!
