2012 is not the end, it is a beginning! -The birth of a new humanity.

Many people keep talking about 2012, so much that there is even a movie! Many people actually fear this upcoming date, thinking it truly is the end. (C'mon people, how many times is the world going to end?); some people don't think much about it at all; but others believe something entirely different. They believe that it is a new beginning.
This is an look into what Drunvalo Melchizedek thinks is going to happen:
Here is a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuUuPJSyMms
And here is an article
https://en.esoguru.com/drunvalo-birth-of-a-new-humanity
So basically, a veil will be lifted and we will see all things for what they truly are. I think that it is talking about enlightenment. I can't say whether or not I believe it will happen just as they say, but I do believe it is so.
I believe this story parallels Christian belief of a second coming. I think it's the same story, just being told in a different way. I'm not saying either is more right or more wrong.
So what do you believe? Is 2012 the end, is it the beginning, or is it nothing at all?? Do you think that this is why the Mayans and other great civilizations just disappeared? Do you think the Mayans knew about this great cycle and created the calendar to 2012 to try to tell us?

Absolutely!
I want to live longer as well. I love life and the things that it offers. Let's hope there are many years left.

I have no idea about it. I don't know whether I should believe such myth in life or not. Some people talk about the 2012 indeed, and none of it have evidence or factual proof of the end of the world. So, I hope it is the new beginning, like you said too.

Perhaps there is not sufficient proof for any side of the argument, but have you sought out any information? If not, I don't see how you can say that there is no evidence or factual proof. I'm not arguing with you, I just wonder why people believe what they believe; or why they don't.

Yes, but all things do change. That is the nature of this material world. Being set in our ways is just resisting change, which is never going to make us happy or bring us any good.

I am not sure that I need a new anything. Most people don't like starting over once they are set in there ways. Many people fear change and act out against things they don't understand.

I'm married to a mayan-descendant woman, and she has told me about that: she says people from Guatemala still have some mayan traditions, and they believe old mayans still live in a burried city under the ground.
They say 2012 is not an exact date but just a refference of a time that is coming without doubt. They spoke about human coruption and crisis, and the world becoming more and more difficult to live in, until 2012. At that time, whe the world has become more insane that we can afford, the Quetzalcoatl would come judge corrupt powers and take them off. After that, a new bright era would come.

Exactly. I agree with this. I think that those in power are too greedy and people are realizing it, getting sick of it. Things always get really hectic right before a great change.

I do not believe in 2012 being the end of the world, but it does signify the change of something big. You can feel it building. A lot of people sense that this is a time of change. People older than me say that it feels similar to the 60's which was just before I was born but an era which fascinates me the most, particularly when it comes to music of the era.
I heard years ago, that the Mayan calendar had been mis-interpreted by assuming that it meant the end of the world. I think it is a shift and a new beginning.I know people who feel that there will be a polar flip magnetically. I am not up to speed on everything that this means, but it will mean changes. Climates will change and civilisations will move. I have also heard that there is going to be a shift in the power of the world from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere. The people that believe this have already moved to Australia and New Zealand.
I am not sure what will happen, so just like the last "end of the world event" in 2000 with the whole Y2K thing, we will have to wait and see.

A magnetic switch of the poles makes a lot of sense to me, especially given how the whether has been. I do not believe that the crazy whether is any sort of punishment like some people think, but just nature. The climates have definitely been changing. The seasons are getting further and further off every year. It's august where I am and it's been very rainy. We got no rain in April which is when it's supposed to come.
I don't know if a shift in power will have anything to do with the hemispheres, but I can tell that things are definitely changing economically. The United States is really having a debt problem worse than ever and we will definitely lose some power. And this is without all the countries we owe money to wanting to cash out.
I don't think that this is anything like Y2K though, except for the fact that the event was pressed by fear-mongers, spouting a bunch of nonsense without any real truth. I think that something will actually happen this time, but not the end of the world. But you are right. We will have to wait and see. But until then, I'm not going to worry.

I'll be honest with you. I watched the video in the link but it didn't move me. He seemed really creep. I appreciate your information.
I just don't think it is for me. I hope things don't get weird, seems sad to think time would stop during my life.

Actually according to the beliefs like the guy in the video, time doesn't exist. lol But I suppose that's besides the point. Haha I don't see why you find him to be a creep. He is just really calm and happy about what he is talking about. Anyway, you didn't really answer the question.

My bad, no I don't think it is the end.
He still creeps me out. LOL
I don't think the end of mankind will be because of planets passing by eachother. The earth doesn't flip when there is an eclipse.

I think this 2012 affects not only those who watched the movie, it even affects people who are religious enough to understand. My aunt did not watch the movie, she's a Buddhist and she believed that 3/4 of population on earth will die in 2012. Only those who were clean of sins can survive. I personally don't believe it, however if it does happens, I believe it is a new beginning for us. I told my aunt this, maybe the 1/4 who left on earth are those who are full of sins. Because the world by then will look like hell, because everything needs to be started all over again. It is not easy and it will cause a lot of suffer and difficulties, maybe this can be the way to punish those people.

You say religious enough to understand, but I think that it's mostly religious folks who are confused about the origin of this date. I've never heard of any Buddhist making such claims as this, so I am very surprised that your aunt said this.
So, you think that life is punishment?

Neah, I actually believe the Earth will just get really angry at us and start spinning uncontrolably through the Universe until we reach the edge and fall over in another dimension right into a lake accumulating millions of rivers of molten dark chocolate, milked right out of the bottoms of dying pulsating stars. There a new crispy cookie civilization will arise and the Universe will die from diabetes.
Sounds pretty reasonable to me.
(at least on acid it does)

well i see both possibilities.. i think it could be an awakening and not the end.. but i could also see it being the end..
i think the mayans were smart enough to know that something was going to happen so i do think the date will have some significance BUT then again where are the mayans? i sometimes wonder if they were just beamed up and will return to earth on that date which will be what changes everything.. seems too weird for such an intelligent group of people just just disappear!

Well actually extraterrestrial beings taking these civilizations that just dropped off the planet, and also these aliens returning on 2012 is actually a theory that some people do believe.

I knew someone who said this too, that it's a new beginning and things will come into place. It's going to be a new astrological sign for the aeon or something. I like this thinking better because it makes me hopeful, so I'd like to believe that instead.

It isn't an end or a beginning except in relation to the calendar, which is a human invention. If there were no humans, there would be no divisions such as days, weeks, months, years. 2012 is going to come and go just like any other year. People have been making predictions about certain dates for centuries now, and not a single one has ever come true.

no one really knows when will the "end" comes. Only God knows his timeline. We should not be afraid of the year 2012. Instead, let us make it as an inspiration. We should try to live our lives obeying the great Ruler.

I'm not afraid of 2012 at all. I'm indifferent to the matter. In fact, as I mentioned, many people are actually excited for it.
