After going going through the tour fixtures of ODI matches, only one of the games seems to be on a fast pitch.
Few other important factors may also play an important part.
No gambir & shewag in Indian team. But Sachin has returned & Nehra will boost the attack.
Kallis & Smith are on the injured list for SA.
What do you think will be the final scoreline for this 5 match series? I feel that this will be another closely fought series& final scoreline :....................................
3-2 in favor of India !

Last time India toured SA , they suffered a whitewash .This time India has improved a lot this is evident from recent test series which was quite even .I agree with you on 3-2 scoreline as Sachin is there for India also new players like Pathan and Kohli are in form .I think unavailability of Gambhir is a bigger loss to India than Sehwag .Not because Gambhir is better but he would have held the innings together in case Sachin gets out early.Since 2007 ,India have played two bilateral series against SA, one in Ireland and another in India, they managed ta win both. Also after losing to Aussies at home in 2008 ,Indian haven't lost a bilateral series .So taking all these factors into account and last but not the least the most important factor , that Kallis is unlikely to play in this series , India have very good chance to win .

for indian no sehwag or gambhir but there is sachin.so no problem.he will need a partner so probably it might be vijay.i wont mind it if kohli opens with sachin, followed by raina, rohit, yuvraj, dhoni, yusuf, bhajji, zaheer, praveen and nehra.
the thing is because of recurring absense of sachin, sehwag, gambhir in the last year gave many youngsters some chance so our batting line up can withstand certain injured players while it is not the case in the test arena.
so it is going to be tough series.hopefully a 2-2 result with the final being a tie.lol

You have rightly said that unavailability of some of India's top players is a boon in disguise as it gives a chance to test youngsters.
2-2 is a bit too tight for my liking. Hoping that India wins it 3-1 & then SA pull one back & make it 3-2.
Tied matches are too risky for people with a weak heart like mine.

I agree it is going to be a closely fought series. Also this will be the final preparation for both sides before the World Cup. So the players vying for the final few spots would be fighting it hard to make the squad. I think it is really going to be a tight one. But this Indian team seems to have a slight edge over the South Africans in terms of the team, but SA have the home advantage.
So I too pick a 3-2 score line in favor of India.
Cheers!

Final scoreline of 3-2 in favour of India appears to be on card. India has got very good ODI side absence of one or two players wont make much of a difference. We will always feel the absence of Sehwag but with Sachin in the side Vijay will be able to feel the opening slot. There are good talented players in the middle order which can win the matches for India. I wish them all the best.
