Call it karma or whatever, but with so much finger pointing towards China for the tainted milk, food stuffs and pet food. Let's not forget how and where Mad Cow Disease, the latest toxic eggs and now cancer poison chickens came about and from.
It is reported recently after that tainted eggs from chickens which ate feeds from Harles & Jentzsch firm went to 25 distributors in Germany and from there to thousands of farms are found to be contaminated with dioxin entered the UK food chain.
The good news is that the contaminated poultry is believed to have been contained where the chickens that are found to have dioxin concentration twice as high as legal levels did not manage to make it into the markets.
But, the eggs are not that fortunate as the liquid eggs processed from 130,000 suspect eggs had moved from Holland into British supermarkets in products such as mayonnaise and pastries.
So, do be careful with what you are buying and/or had bought. Be hesitant and exercise utmost caution here. Take care.

Wow, I don't think that there is any food that is safe to eat anywhere in the world these days. This is the first that I've heard about the eggs in Europe, but here in the states it always seems like there is a recall over this or that type of food. I think that the farmers that are producing food sources need to be monitored more closely. However, I also think that the consumers need to be very vigilant over watching what foods are recalled these days.

My exact sentiments here, dorannmwin.
We cannot afford to be careless now. Can we?
So, do read up every label and news for we just might never know what's waiting on the shelves for us. I am sorry but we just have to trust our vigilance here.

Well,it is a truth that the food safety problems got more serious now than before. In this economically society, lots of people want to make more profit through some bad means.Of course, there are some inevitalbe results from our "advanced technology".Some things that once made our lives more conveninent are now known have harm to our body and health. For example, antibiotics contributed to the cure of some illness. But now we found they can do harm,super-bacteria is an evidence of their harm.
So sometimes, advances in technology may pose threat to our life one day.So when we human being are try to conquer the nature,we should reconsider the results.

aprilsong,
You really brought up something very relevant and important where I just cannot believe that the brains seating behind the desks had not thought about it so far.
People use to say that you get what you pay for and I wonder if businesses had forgotten that food produce needs time to achieve quality levels. Let me elaborate briefly - like milk where once upon a time it is being produced from agricultural countries like Australia, New Zealand, USA and various Europe before it became too expensive. So, now producers are sourcing from China and expect their farming technology and feed quality to be equivalent to their former stalwarts.
So, can we blame the frustrating farmers from doctoring the milk produce and end up with the big catastrophe that happened in your country - when the farming standards are poles apart. It is just no where near producing sports apparels, shoes, costume accessories or some computer software.
Now, this debacle in Europe is just retribution in my opinion - how do you think they had regress to such a state? I am not laughing but rather, I hope that they will pull up their socks!

First it was the spinach scare and now other foods. Is there anything safe to eat in this country. How do you know if somethin is tainted or not? Most of these products might look good without giving the consumer a clue that something might be wrong.
