Hi all.
Patience is not my strongest virtue and will probably never be.
So i'll rather try to understand than letting someone try out my patience.
Which do you prefer.
Trying to understand a person or letting that person try out your patience?
Understanding is better for me.
It keeps me out of trouble and the temper gets a little rest as well.
Now, tell me your secret in patience or understanding.
TATA.

It depends on the person --- if i'm being bothered by a guy of my age then i wouldn't mind loosing my patience!
When it comes to small kids, women and old aka elders then i would let them test my extremes *Good that i carry my ipod these days...can be handy you know*
BIRLA!

Hi Saph!
I would like to be a patient listener and will try to understand what the fellow in front of me wishes to convey. I tend to lose my patience, when someone ask to me 'understand' him/her quickly or to do a job within no time. I tell them it takes time for me to do a job or understand a thing, am a slow learner.

I believe that understanding is the key to everything. If you have understanding, you can almost always succeed. not everyone has has the gift of patience. this is something that sometimes needs to be learned. Understanding is the gift we can all achieve.

Hi, i wil try to understand the situation before i loose my patience. if the sitution is going out of control, i loose my patience. its very hard task to keep our patience for long. if any one have a good patience, they can understand. i think there will be less people like this. mostly professionally one can develop to be having patience, especially, like Doctors, Phychologists etc.,

All I do is listen and if I'm puzzled , I ask what did they mean. Then if they push a button , there is no more trying to understand , It is on!

Yes.If a person pushes me too far , or pushes my buttons, Then I get angry and vengeful and the time for understanding ends or should i say it gets cut short, real short!

You can understand others if they give you a chance. I'll try to do that, but if it's too much of a test for my patience, I'll just step away. Can't handle so much now a days.

I don't think I am patient enough. But I am considerate. I admit freely and openly, my flaws and deficiencies. I know I am not perfect and there is no way denying that. In the same way, I also believe that no one is perfect in this world. This is the single most important thing that helps me keep up my patience. How can I blame someone for having something that I have myself. I can't stand arrogance, but am I totally void of arrogance? I hate egotists, but am I completely free of it? They have flaws, but unfortunately, I have the same flaws that they have. I can't ask my children to quit smoking if I am a smoker myself. Understanding of the fact that human beings are fundamentally imperfect makes me more patient and kind to them.

Hi dear, i feel both should have. If we have a patience then we will try to understand others with the patience. Understanding someone always makes us to keep us cool and calm, no hurry or immediate reactions. Some times this will cause a lot. So understand and patience is must. I will try the both because i am a woman. Woman should have a patience as well as understanding nature then half of the problems will solve.
Have a great day.

Personally ramesh(hey its me) is a very cool person.
But sometimes she is becoming so angry on his friends, you know why, because he wants to know or to express some feelings. Some he looses something. But again he re-gain them.
But my personal openion is, patience is not worked all the time. Suppose we are friends from the past ten months, i can openly tell to you anything(happily, sadly, angrily, or with any other emotion), but i can't do this with any another new one.
(indirectly i am opened my feeling...hahaha)

I don't want to allot special time to try patiently, because it is my age effect.
After getting some experiences, after loosing something my mind will know the importance of the patience...
hahahaa...
(i am joking)
i will try my level best to a maximum extent.

Hi also,
For me, understanding and patience are somewhat similar to each other. We can be more patient if we try to understand others' opinion, feelings or thought. I can say I'm a patent person because I could easily get in someone's thought. I grew being calm all the time. I rarely lose temper because of someone's deeds that I hate or the like. I learned being calm and patient when I was a child. I lost temper with a close playmate and fought with him. From that day, he didn't meet me anymore until now. I saw the huge consequence of having no patience.
Good Day to You!

As a Zen practitioner, patience is a challenge that us Zen practitioners are challenged with. When we sit in meditation for long periods, this is a big issue for us, for we are sitting just watching the mind and experiencing our feelings. This helps when we are interacting with other people, to allow them to be exactly as they are, even if they do get trying and irritating. _Derek

Hi Saphrina,
In Zen this is meant to be challenging so that we learn patience and calmness experientially. If you keep going with it, one day you will notice that you are actualy doing it which is a sign that you have strengthened your mindfulness and focus and that you are now being in more control and your unconscious being in less control. _Derek

Hi , Saphy.
Patience or understanding, huh? Well, I'd rather take the latter, dear. It is easier fr me to understand than to get hold of my patience for a longer time. It can easily snapped.
But, what I do realized was patience and understanding go hand in hand. I need to be patient to learn how to understand, patient to myself not to go against the will to understand and patient t5o understand further more.
See, dear, I really can not fully understand without being patient.:)

Trying to understand is better, but not always easy. I know one guy who I could provide literal proof of something to - that would hold credence in court, and he would still deny it's application if it weren't his original view.
There isn't a lot that you can do with that sort!

Patience is the patient receiving the existing trials does not mean we have to stay alone but we should also try to do my best.
Understanding is a matter of our feelings to know what is experienced by someone.
So we should be able to make 2 of these things become more useful and better ... for someone who is near us or we meet people who would love to hang out with us
