What is your opinion in this MMDA Francis Tolentino;'s pronouncement of giving an exemption on bus coding to those with female drivers. According to him, female drivers are less abusive and more traffic law abide rs than their male counterpart. For it's gender discrimination and violation of right to work and fair competition. O'm a female but I'm not for this discriminating idea.

I highly disagree with this. This is downright gender discrimination right at our faces. Not all women are "less abusive" and "obedient" as Tolentino thinks. He'd be surprised at the number of women who'd take advantage of this situation. Also, it's downright unfair for the male drivers who are only trying to make a living here.

Hello lazette, the idea of MMDA is from their observation and this action they are making is I think experimental. I just asking why you are not agreed that female are not less abusive and obedient meaning more female are abusive - oh come on, your female.. LOL see you around

Yes, I'm a female, but that doesn't mean that I agree women are less abusive and obedient, and neither does it mean that I'll even bother trying to "take the side" of the women on this one. I know women who are far more harsh compared to any man I know, and I know a woman is capable of being abusive as well. These traits are never about gender, it's all about personality. It is idiotic, in my opinion, to base such traits on gender and mere observation. When taking sides, there are many factors to consider. I am taking the side that is equally fair for both males and females.

I disagree with Francis Tolentino's opinion because what he is doing is very similar to racism. I don't want to be hired for a job just because I am female. Instead, I would like to be hired because of the quality of work that I am doing and because of my personality. Not all men are traffic violators and not all women are traffic abiders. Generalizing is definitely gender discrimination.

In my point of view as a woman, I think this is true, why not make us traffic followers, men and women, I think this is where discipline should be enforced and not this kind of gender discrimination!

He probably has taken a look at some statistics showing female drives have less violations on the road, more safety-conscious, less risk-takers and so on and forth before Mr. Tolentino made that announcement. There should be some data to back him up. Well, this is really a challenge to the male drivers if ever this pushes through. I haven't heard of this 'til now.,.

Well the female specie is by nature less violent and less aggressive compared to the male population, owed largely to the low levels of testosterone on a female compared to a male's body. But I guess this is a wrong approach to the problem because even if a male person has more testosterone this doesn't mean that all male drivers are aggressive, in fact some women are even more aggressive. The main reason why Mother Justice is blindfolded is so that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law regardless of gender. The problem is the driver and not on the gender. If a driver, whether male or female has the proper training, and law enforcers whether male or female, impose the law then there won't be a problem. If there's a problem, they arrest the suspect, penalize and put them to jail if necessary.

My opinion is that Mr. Tolentino was just giving praise to women drivers as being more law abiding than the male drivers.
I was surprised that women here are reacting negatively since they are the ones who will benefit from the exemption.
More Filipina women are becoming liberalized to the point they want to be treated like their western counterparts. If that is the case, then do not complain if in a crowded bus or train, menfolk will not give their seats anymore.

If this will happen many male drivers will rage to anger. Many male drivers will might end up thief or snatcher go to the path of evil ways. The only way they can fight this problem is to be strict in terms of giving out policy. I hope this will not happen.

Hello friend, I know that some are not accepting such action of MMDA but the reality is on. May be the action is expiremental in the side of MMDA which the benefits is for the people. So male driver should not be mad on this instead be a challenge to them to prove that the present MMDA perception is wrong. see you around
