How do you choose the music you listen to?

Hello dear friends of mylot. I think we all like music. We as humans are musical beings, so we all have the necessity of music. Someones just need a little bit of music everyday, but there also are people like me that needs to be listening music most of the time. But what I wondered about is: How do people choose the music they listen? So I want to share this doubt with you, and ask you about this. I'm not asking about music genres or anything like this. I wan you to tell me what does the music you like have that makes it pleasing to your ears? Is the beats? the instruments? the melody? the voices? the lyrics? Thanks for sharing with me your points of view.

Hi there, Mine tends to be a lot about the lyrics for most of the music that I listen to at home, I especially like songs that actually mean something and I can relate to, other than songs that just talk about money and cars and blah blah. However, when I'm out it's different, because I like a song with a good beat that I can dance to, and a lot of that kind of music I listen to has no lyrics at all. I guess when I'm at home, I like to be thinking hard about the music I'm listening to, and when I'm out I just want something that I can dance to like a maniac!

That's interesting, and what most of the people does. I don't do the same. I prefer just to listen the music that have lyrics that make me think about something. I don't like listening to music just because of the rhythm or beat.

hi, i choose a music that i could relax,and clear all thoughts in my mind, so i choose those most sentimental and love songs, sometimes i choose those cold voices when they sing like celine dion.

Music has a lot of similarities with food. Either you prefer it with little ingredients or get only the one that gives you the most pleasure. Sometimes the lyrics do not matter as long as the music "set things right" especially that most songs a person is just so lazy to memorize.

hey, With regards to the kind of music that I like, its more on the slow beats, a solemn music. I like this kind of music for I love to reflect and meditate oftentimes remembering the good things happened in my life. Thanks.

I choose them either by their lyrics or the melody. There are songs that I listen to just because they sound great and can give you an immediate energy boost.. Then, I'll realize that I don't even know what the song is all about. Some songs in my list have lyrics that I can relate to. Then, I'll just appreciate its melody after I have listened to the song for quite some time.

The way I chose music is if it sounds good to me I will listen to it. Also it is about the lyrics. A lot of the time the words will take me to a certain place in my thoughts. Sometimes in my memories.
