We have this young tom cat. He shocks us with his hunting ability. You never know what he might try and catch. Recently most birds have learned to stay away from our yard, I believe they know our cat is there and will probably hunt them down. Now that he has done that, he is now in the process of getting rid of squirrels around your home, which is helpful since they can cause such horrible damage. But, there is one thing that makes us scratch our heads, the fact that he is eating the squirrels.
So far he has brought in 5 squirrels into our home to show us what he has done. The last one, he constantly brought in, each time with more missing from it. It was a very long night. Mind you we finally had to take the thing away from him and you know what, he went out and caught another one the next morning. He didn't bring it in though.
We prepared his meal for him, but do you think he came in to eat? Nope instead he had squirrel for breakfast.
It amazes me what cats will eat.

Your tom cat is easily taken down a notch whenever I make him do the "milkshake" dance. :] Helena Gatsby has taken a liking to eating strange things as well. I literally just scolded her for trying to eat an envelope. I suppose the creatures around these parts are just odd... I suppose that makes them fit in with the rest of us. :]

That is true, "LittleMissSarah", you do take him down a notch. LOL. But, he still loves to rub on everyone's legs no matter what. Yes, she has been eating some real weird stuff, however, that is pretty normal for a baby. Everything goes in the mouth. That's why you have to "puppy proof". Which I need to finish doing.

Our cat found a piece of fish that fell on the floor and we did not realize it was there. He vomited for three days then didn't want to eat at all at first. When he was a kitten, we lined the bathroom shelves with aluminum foil and duct tape to try to keep him from jumping on them and knocking everything off. The silly cat ate the aluminum foil and duct tape. We called the vet and he set us up with a prescription hairball remedy that we had to feed him for three days till he passed the foil and duct tape. Needless to say we don't use that idea any more.

Oh that is so gross when they actually rip pieces off the rodents and eat them. My cats dont do that they just kill them and leave them right outside the front door for me to see. This winter about twice a week for a few months they have killed moles. we must have been infested with them around the property so I'm glad for the two outside cats we have as well as the 3 strays I've seen out there lately lol.
