Has anyone seen Gulliver's Travels?

I took my 9-year-old to see this movie. He thought it was pretty good, and funny, but I could not WAIT to get out of the theater. It had so much potential, and it was so boring and cliched. It was supposed to be clever and humorous at the same time, but, in my opinion, it fell short on both counts (at least for an adult). But maybe I've just become too finicky. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?

I have not seen the theater or movie of Gulliver's Travels but about 45 years ago I read story of Gulliver's Travels in a book. That time it was like thrill and a popular story. The Liliput, war with blefescu at the island where Gulliver reached etc. was too amusing that time.

This one is very different than the book or many of the earlier movies, believe me.
