Couple months ago, I resigned from work. And now after jobless, I'm trying to apply for new job. But all company I've been interview offered lower than my last salary. It doesn't mean I expect a high income, but at least came near of what I earned before. Should I lower my income? Is that true, that company underestimate people who is jobless?

in accepting new employees, companies must consider the ability and willingness of the prospective employee. Another consideration is the ability and salary policy established by the company itself. My advice, don't despair, friend. I'm sure, someday you'll get a job with the appropriate income your desire. This is only a matter of time

This is not about underestimating your capabilities. They are there to make business. They are hiring employees as a capital investment to their business. So they will always try to get maximum return from the minimum amount of investment. Now they fully understand your situation. In fact, everybody does, as there is a point of time everyone of us has been jobless. Joblessness is anonymous to helplessness and they know it fully well. You're in a disadvantageous position and they are going to exploit it for their sake. You need to understand that you're not in a position to negotiate. So you better take a job, any job and then look for another, more suitable job, while working in that company. This will also increase the sense of security and comfort. You will be more confident and will once again be in a position to negotiate.

You're absolutely right. That is what I feel after a few interview. Maybe I will take the opportunity if they offer a little bit difference. And then I'll wait. Thank u for a good advice, getbiswa..

You were probably paid according to your seniority where you left. They aren't going to pay that where you are going, unless you have some kind of skill or education that makes you more attractive as a candidate for the job. Sometimes it's a matter of "underestimating", but usually it's because it takes a lot of time and money to train new people... even people with experience from other companies. Hiring new people is a major investment for any company.

I don't know if the underestimate a jobless people, but if i were jobless and a company offer a job with lower income i would accepted, because that is something you need, as some people says, something is better than nothing. Just start working with that lower salary and keep looking, because when you have no job, there are few job available but when you are working you would see that you are going to get more offers.

Since you are jobless at the moment. Accept the possible work you can get even it is lower salary. Because soon or later your salary will increase accordingly. Be compensated to what you do. I always consider salary. But I prioritize the position I am looking for. I have motto that I always inspire to work: Work as you don't need money. Work as you like at home. Money will come along.

This is the way they do business, they want to employ you to do things they ask you to do. If I were the one who look for a job, and if I get the lower paying job I would accept it in the first place because I think it is still good that I can earn money for a living, much better than earning nothing. I would keep that lower earning job for sometime while looking for better paying job, but in the meantime this is something I can earn at least.

Hi,sorry to hear your problem. And you said you resigned from your work months ago,and now the new offers all earn less than your previous work. You don't know how to do. I think first you should ask yourself, why you resigned, for the company atmosphere, for the salary,or just feel too tired doing that?If you resigned because of the bad salary,of course you should not accept a new one which offer less;if you feel so tired, then if you can be offered a light work with less salary,i think you should have a try.

I don't think that companies under estimate what a valuable asset you may be to their company. Personally I think that they way our economy is and how desperately a lot of people are looking for employment, sometimes they tend to take advantage of the opportunity. They know how vulnerable we can be when we are desperately looking for work, so they offer the minimum or lower pay, than would be expected for a certain classification, because they know that if a person is in need of a job they won't be picky about the pay, they would take the job as is, as long as they are able to get some form a monthly income and at the same time they are keeping more money in their pockets. Personally what I would if I was in the situation, take advantage of the opportunity, something is better than nothing. And in your spare time, look for other jobs that may be better in your pay range. That would be my personal opinion.
