Hi My Dear Friends! I'm Still Around.....

I'm still sick and weak but I'm still hanging on tight. It's been one hell of a ride going through this hell of mine but I'm doing all I can to get better so I can come back here and be active once again. To those who don't already know, I was in the hospital for a couple of days with a severe kidney infection and a bladder infection. I'm on some strong antibiotics and the side effect is making me very fatiqued so I sleep a lot these days. Hubby and I have finally gotten a new doctor.... before our old one kills us both..... seriously! My first appointment is this Wednesday. I'll tell you all about it AND the dental implant surgery that I had a month or so ago which I had promised to tell you all about but hadn't had the chance yet. I haven't forgotten but been really sick. I was suppose to get the last implant on Monday but it had to be postphoned for now. My dad is really sick, possibly with the flu. He said it's coming out on both ends and he's miserable and weak. Oh such timing, couldn't be more worse! Mom can't do much because of her having the stroke 2.5 years ago and hubby is caring for me. He might go up there and see what he can do to help them then come back home. My brothers just might have to come down and help because we just can't do it all all the time. Now will that happen or not remains to be seen. I'm at witts end, I do know that. Anyway, I will be back, just hang in there for me! Plus I will answer your discussions although I'll be very late. :/

Hi Cats, I am late responding because I’ve had a lot happen too! I am so sorry to hear that you are so sick; I pray that you will feel much better soon. It sounds like you are very overwhelmed because everything is happening at once. Your husband sounds like a wonderful man, the way he is taking such good care of you! I would accept whatever help I could get if I was you and if your brothers offer to help, make sure you let them! Take care Cats…

Oh paula, the idea of your responding at all shows that you care! So don't worry about being late! I DO understand! Life can hand us a bundle sometimes. I was some kind of sick, whew! My doctor said it was a good thing that I came in when I did because it would've killed me! I knew I was really sick but had no idea I was THAT sick! Pretty scary! But now I'm feeling a bit better and am regaining my strength back little by little. Hubby has done a wonderful job caring for me. I'm very lucky to have such a man in my life. About my parents, they're getting better too little by little. Mom is still a little weak but is getting better. As for you, what's going on sweetie? I hope it's nothing more than you can handle for life can get a wee bit overwelming..... What ever it is, hope it gets better for you too!!

I am pleased to hear you are getting your strength back...I've had no major dramas, just a lot to do first with Christmas and then we went away and my mobile broadband didn't work so I couldn't relax and MyLot! Now my daughter is home on school holidays so I am still not very active still...Oh well I will catch up eventually...Take care my friend!

I will be praying for you and your family. I have to have surgery the 27th, and my son is having surgery the 3rd. My other son totaled his car last week on the icey roads going to work. It is crazy around here. Get well soon, and hope you can get your brother to pitch in with your parents.

I am having my gallbladder out and a hernia fixed. As long as I am ok to go up to the hospital, he will be there for 3 days, and is not allowed to stand for 6 weeks. We have a hoyer lift and I am hoping that will make it better. My husband took off a couple of extra days, but if he thinks things are going well, he will go back early. My son was very lucky that he wasn't hurt. We went and found him a car, that ran well when we bought it, although a cheap one. Cheap it was, he drove it 2 days before the transmission started acting up, and now won't shift at all. He decided he is going to just take a loss and send it to junkyard or sell it cheap to someone that wants to fix it. He just got a truck today. I hope it does him well, we have no more money to help him with. It just keeps getting a little crazier around here. Hopefully things are getting better for you. I think you have enough to take care of, although it would really be nice to meet you.

OMG Thoroughrob! Wow! I'm sorry to hear about all that's been happening! Hope your son is ok!? The car can be replaced but not your son! I hope everything else goes well and it all ends well with the two surgeries. How in the world are you going to be able to care for your other son if YOU'RE having surgery? I wish I were closer for I'd be more than happy to help! Just get better yourself, ok?

Sweet gabs.... I've seen your latest discussion and know you're still struggling to get better. Bless your heart! Please know that I'm thinking about you and sending positive thoughts your way. Just rest and get better, ok? As for myself, I'm just starting to regain my strength a little at a time. My parents are doing better too. They're still weak but are getting better. Now it's your turn to get better!

Thank you AmbiePam! I am feeling much better today with finally regaining some of my strength back and not sleeping as much. I take my last antibiotic tonight and I should be on the mend fairly quickly. I have to go in for tests to be sure in a week or so. Gosh, I hope that's the last of this nasty stuff!

you take your time and don't worry too much about us, we are much more concerned that you take care of yourself and your folks than those of here at the "lot"

That is so true! I've been doing well enough, an ingrown toenail is painful but it's so infected as to be dangerous!

Get better Cats. It sounds like you got slammed dunked. You go and go till you can't go no more. It sounds like with everything going on your resistence was down, that might be why you got slammed like you did. now you have no choice but to rest. Its been a year for being sick. i had the flu for a few days, then a couple of weeks later i got a head cold. I am usually healthy, don't get sick much.

It sounds like you never have time to take care of yourself. Drink enough water, etc. I had kidney and bladder infection many years ago. It did make me exhausted, so I have all kinds of sympathy for you. I think it is about time your folks looked into getting some home health help or homemaker help. It is too much for you and your husband and your brothers. I will remind you that MyLot will still be here when you get your strength back. I know that you will say that your dad refuses help, but it is better than killing you, or going into a nursing home.

Hi Cats, yep you sound very busy and I can understand changing doctors; I am in between one now..I am curious about the dental implant, what is that exactly?

Yeah, being sick stinks, and even worse when loved ones are sick and you can't help them. I hope your mom is ok, does she fall a lot? Thank for the pictures of the dental implants, looks painful, but it also looks like it replaces missing teeth without the hassle of dentures? That might be something I'd look into, I have a bottom tooth where I didn't floss good enough over the years and may loss it, so maybe this implant will work for me..:)

oh iam so hoping you are going to be ok. i had wondered how you was. is it possible the dentistry has something to do with the kidneys infection? cant your parents get some help from caregiver coming in? the insurance should carry something for that. im hoping you all will be ok.

Hi bunnybon.... I'm just starting to regain some strength back so I'm getting better, thank the good one above! The doctor said it could've turned deadly and that I was very lucky to have came in when I did. That really shook me up! Whew! No, it didn't have anything to do with my getting dental implants but just an unfortunate event. About my parents, I'm trying to vet some home help for them. I have been for some time. Mom lost the papers the first time and now I'm waiting for her to make some phone calls to get the information that I need. The thing is this time, I went down then just as I get home, dad gets the flu then the next day, mom falls ill. They're getting better so maybe mom will start making the phone calls tomorrow and get this darned ball rolling so I can have some peace of mind.

Hi CatsandDogs, I'm sorry to hear that you are not well. Although I do not know you that well, but I will pray for you and your Dad. I know how it feels like to have parents who are suffering from sickness cause my Mom was a stroke patient for 3 years and my Dad was a cancer patient. They have both gone to be with the Lord. I hope you do get well soon and hoping to see you on myLot.com soon.

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear about your parents! I really am. I know I'll be in your shoes one day but I can wait. Bless your heart! Thank you so much for your kind wishes. I'm just starting to regain my strength again. It's been a long haul but I'm working my way back. My parents are getting better too, a little each day. Soon we'll all be back on our feet again. Thank you!

Hi Cats! And Welcome Back! I am so glad that you are home and starting to feel better, well at least a little better. And for once let your brothers deal with your parents! You are not in any shape to deal with them and neither is your wonderful hubby! And the fact that your dad has the flu is reason enough for both of you to stay away! You immune system is compromised enough. You need to take care of yourself for a change and let someone else take care of them. I do hope that you will be feeling well soon. Sending you healing thoughts and Hugs, Opal
