Hi,my mylotter friends. How is teaching in your country? Will a teacher receive respect and money as well? I think the importance a government attached to teaching will easily reflect its civilization level and the whole education level of its citizen. Generally speaking, here in china, the government attaches more importance to education than before. But there remain lots of problems. Especially in underdeveloped regions, for example:the west part and some mountainous area.
As for parents who got kids to support, there are more problems.Because the fee rose so high, lots of poor families can't afford to send their kids to high school,to saying nothing of college. And furthermore, the college became more interested in choosing talents than cash. That is to say, even being an idiot, you can easily go to college if only you got enough money;but so many good students are rejected from college because of poor.Of course, there are so many reports or news which state which poor student is helped by kind people... ...etc.But there is only a small portion. It is really a sad thing to see these good students have no way out.

It's sad to hear that. It's heared that primary and secondary schools will be free of teaching. Only charge for textbooks. But don't know if it can be implemented now? I found that kindergarten tuition is very expensive. By the people who work in the city can not afford the child to study, because the cost of earning from the work is not enough to pay for their children's school fees. This society is so real, to nurture a child grow up is really not a simple matter. More and more families feel the difficulties, which become so now a serious problem.

Though the government attaches more importance on education, and it seems the parents will pay much more than ever to the education of their kids. The cost of education has become a big part of the cost of living.

Here in our country, teaching has not much of a bright future compared to other countries. Teachers are given low salary and compensation and not most of them pursue their career or even try to further their knowledge due to financial constraints. Some teachers even opt to look for higher paying jobs even if it's not on their own expertise. The teaching system is quite poor as well in most of the public schools in our country. Books are inadequate and even teaching equipment and materials are not sufficient. Not unless you opt to go t o a private school and learn other things by yourself. Not everything is taught at school. That's where being innovative and diligent come in.

I think the countries that will rank in the first places in the world will be those who attach most importance to educations.

In my country (Philippines), teachers earn respect by how they teach and handle students.
Salaries for teachers here are not that high, unless the teacher works in a very expensive private school. Teaching as people say here, is a vocation not a profession. For you to be able to teach means that you really have passion for teaching, because you won't last long if you don't since the salary isn't high but the stress levels are off the roof.
Poverty here in the Philippines is bad too. Most parents can't afford to send children to school because the poor usually has a lot of kids, probably 5. Some families can only afford to send their children until grade 6. There are foundations that help the families by buying the school things for children, etc. Mostly the middle-class and higher are the ones who can afford college. Some students in college are what you call working students, they work in school to compensate for not paying the tuition fee for the sem

Well,i think it is a shame for the governments if the people can't afford to send their kids to school. Actually, if there is less corruption and save some money, the education situation will be improved to some extent.

Teaching profession is an honorable job. There's so much fulfillment in teaching specially when your former students would now be professionals and when they see you they are so thankful for being one of those who shaped them for their now present good job. You feel proud yourself, for being a teacher!
Teaching here is being done heartfully . The teachers would even risk their lives by teaching in remote areas, just to be able to impart education to poor people.
here in our place, recently , the teachers were given a big raise on their salaries. They were even given additional bonus during the Christmas season. There were searches for the best teacher also and cash incentives were given.
Hence, there are a lot of students in college now, taking up the tecahing profession.

In our country there is good future in teaching profession. Here is a lot of potentiality in teaching professional. In our country number of vacancies available in Government Education department, but we need a concentration to get the job. If the students concentrate they will definately get the job. At a same time salaries also good.

In in china, the top students also can be offered good jobs. But generally speaking, the good but not very good students may lose lots of opportunities.Because these jobs may be taken by those students who are not as competitive as them but have money for bribes.

Yes, teaching is a good career in my country of the UK. Teachers are encouraged and well-rewarded. But the life of a teacher is very hard: they have to maintain discipline at all times; and this isn't always easy. Many do not want to teach, maybe because they feel they could not keep order in the classroom. I admire and respect teachers very much. It's a hard life...but a very rewarding one.

Teacher as a career has improved a lot today in my country. The salary and treatment are better than before. And most of all, today parents tend to give different kinds of presents to the teachers. And it can be a potential income. And teaching is a stable job and you don't have to lose a job, even if the economy goes bad. Besides, the teachers will have two long vacations and that's great.
I love China

I believe that teaching is a formidable career to have in any country. Education is important to us worldwide. Sometimes teachers aren't given the proper respect and admiration and credit that they deserve.

In the United States teachers are overworked and underpaid. With the bad economy the government keeps on decreasing goverment spending amd unfortunately our schools have to suffer. Many children go without books because there is no money to buy new textbooks. Also, there are several programs that keep on getting cut such as food programs.

Yes, a teacher receives lots of respect here in our country, but if you want to get rich, don't be a teacher. They just don't get enough salary, especially those in public schools- which is why some of them go abroad..

You are right, though more and more countries are pay more attention to education, but to want to be rich, you should never choose a career of teaching.

I really hope that the government would pay more attention to education becasue many of our children here don't get to go to school because of poverty. And they're even planning on adding two more years in school- which will burden hte parents and students.

teaching is a great career since talents are nurtuted in schools by teachers..but in most cases governments tend to forget the big role played by teachers,, give them poor working conditions and very bad pays. in my country teachers are some of the public workers lowly paid!!

Teaching in the Philippines does not make much especially if you are teaching in a public school but teachers are very much respected in my country. Teachers here can make more if they can get a tutoring job, I have a friend who was able to get to tutor the children of one of the ambassadors from another country and another one who tutors a group of Korean students wanting to learn English, both of them are being paid handsomely

Hello
Teaching is a good career in my country which is India. here, if you are a good teacher one thing you are going to get is RESPECT. And if you are in a government affiliated college then its CHERRY ON THE CAKE. though money is not that good as compared to other jobs that you can do. one thing i wants to say is that people normally have that misconception that a teacher always has to maintain that extra discipline in his/her. this is not true because its just a part of their job to maintain discipline and they get paid for it and when they are not on their job they behave like normal people.
