Reports are that members of a church are planning to protest at the funeral of the 9 year old that was slain .. that their protest is that God is punishing because of this nation's homosexual tolerances.
This is outrageous in my estimation ... just one more issuethat congress has failed to enact common sense laws to prevent.

Yup, the Phelpsians have brought their freakshow to Arizona. But the Patriot Guard Riders will also be there to put a barrier between the mourners and the Phelpsians.

That's why I ride with the Patriot Guards.. They can protest and rant all day, but no one will hear them over our bikes.

There is actually a very good way to counter this. It has be successful several times. The people show up in significant numbers and give no quarter whatsoever to these guys. Chances are the people who oppose this group are already planning a counter support operation. Very likely by the time they get there, there will be no room for them.

There is no denying that. They are nuts. I do find it gratifying that there is a way to deal with them without violence and without breaking any laws. These nuts also bring out a lot of support for the families of the deceased.

Most Christians won't even call them or recognize them as "Christians." Just another group that hides behind a religion and then manipulates it for their own selfish purposes.

I don't wish violence on anyone. BUT, if there's any justice in the world, the next manaic shooter worshipping skulls in his yard tent will take aim at morons heading up this hateful church packed full of terror-minded people who are a short 'n' curly away from setting bombs in my estimation.

I don't really disagree with that. Of course, I stand for their right to free speech. But indoctrinating their children with the "God hates gays" nonsense to the point that they will cause families of victims mental pain is, in a word, MENTAL!
If someone ever walks across the road and pounds the teeth out of their hands, all I can say is that justice is served.

Out of their HEADS, not hands. Anyone with teeth is in their hands is obviously in need of some type of help!

I'm with you! And, because I hate violence, it is my estimation that these people should be one and all subjected to a thorough mental health evaluation and as important, investigations ought to determine whether or not they are armed so that innocent people can avoid them at all costs! I think innocent people should have the right to know!!

I saw this... they need to be dealt with harshly. Arizona did quickly get a law up to protect and make it illegal for them to protest. The governor still has to sign itfrom what I hear.. They came here to Oklahoma too but the bikers all joined together to keep them away! Yeah bikers!!

yes, I actually just read that.. but I also read that the citizens of Tuscon are building a human shield so that the grieving family members will not even be able to see them~ gotta love that!

OK..and just what would those actions be? Thr freedom/right to protest UNLESS you're a member of group A, B, or C?..Unfortunately there's nothing in the Constitution that demands that one either know what they're talking about or be right about what they think before they can protest..For the record, I will support their right to protest. However, as with zealots of all sorts, their reasoning is not the result of their theological beliefs so much as it is their social prejudices..How to overcome it? That's a bloody good question but saying that congress should have done something about is not a positive movements towards eliminating the problem.
Were you congress how would you approach it yourself?
Enjoy!

At the end of the day we should not measure our lives because of religion [ or some notorious faith made by some delusional person] our life it's suppose to be measure by compassion, understanding and love for humans and all that it's.
