LOL, Okay I just heard about this event from my mother and I just had to shake my head at it.
My mom was in wal-mart, at their photo center trying to get her pictures developed. Beside her, a young woman (about 19 or 20) was doing the same thing. When she was asked what type of picture she wants- Gloss or Matte- she pronounced it "glossery" and "mattey" and had to ask her mom what that meant. So for about a minute or longer, the young woman and her mother were trying to figure out what "glossery" and "mattey" meant before they finally asked a Wal-mart employee. The employee explained that Gloss was a shiny finish while Matte wasn't.
LOL, maybe its just me and maybe the mother and daughter had never heard of gloss or matte finish, but I found the incident kind of funny.
