What is Gingelly oil

Hi I think both of them who replied explained most of the things! Yes its also called as til oil / sesame oil. It is used in pickle, to prepare food and to massage, its really good for skin, In south india its also used for lighting the lamps in front of the god.. There are 2 types in sesame i.e, white and black. But One thing I must tell you guys.. Few days back I visited a factory which makes All these kind of oils I am not able to use this oil even to light the lamp becouse this gingelli oil is mixed of everything(they mix all low quality oils to this and even they mix some chemicals) . The factory person recomanded not to use this for cooking.. Its horrible.. Please be careful before buying this oil for cooking!!! Good luck!

user kitty has explained it well...... sesame oil is very good for health. it has the quality to pull excess oil from our body when u gargle a spoon full of this oil on empty stomach early in the morning. that is it is used for oil pulling. but it is expensive so most of the house hold just use it for salad dressing,and lighting lamps. in south india it is used in pickles and also for mixed rice varieties. it can used to remove or clean infant's mouth. very effective coolent. babies are massaged with boiled sesame oil for good skin.
