So, my first real assignment in school is to review and compare internet browsers, and write a report on my findings.
I personally have only ever used Internet Explorer and Firefox, and to me they're both similar. They're both easy to use and easy to navigate. There may be some minor differences in security, etc, but I wouldn't know because I don't use Firefox often and my Internet Explorer is set up to allow me on to all the sites I visit frequently so I rarely have any problems.
So, I'd like to know what internet browser you use. What do you like about it? What do you dislike about it?

I perfer explorer but it has several problems with it. However I still find it better than firefox, which I happen to be using right now. For my cellphone I use bolt. It's really fast. On my mac I can only seem to use flock. Slow asmalasys but at least it works.

I prefer IE too, I think I'm just used to it. I use Firefox as a back up.

I am using firefox right now.
IE for me is terrible because it is slower and crashes for numerous times.
I also used Chrome but I am avoiding it right now because of some plug-in error. It can't play videos in youtube.
There is also a browser named Opera, but it is not as popular as the other browsers.

I used Opera, but only used it for playing on Pogo, and deleted it after a short while.

Hmm.. I think you're the first responder to only use a single browser! It seems the most popular method is to have a back up browser in case of loading or crashing problems.

I was using Firefox along with the adblock and noscript add ons. With all the complaints about Yuwie and viruses, I never got one the whole time using Firefox.
When I signed up for moezmoney (now Birejji) I switched to Chrome because the site was written for Chrome and Firefox and ie had problems with the site. I've stuck with Chrome ever since. It doesn't crash as often as Firefox or ie did, but I never installed anything to Chrome that was comparable to the adblock or noscript. If it does crash, you can restore all your tabs, although I believe Firefox has that option also.

I had that problem with IE and Firefox before.. certain sites will only load in one browser if that's the browser it's made for.

I've used Firefox before but because I've used Internet Explorer since the first day I started using the Internet years ago, it's just the one thing I've become used to. 'If it's not broken, don't fix it' as they say! I like having different tabs within one window, you can customise it fairly easily, and it works with most sites and applications because it's such a popular browser. It has some downsides, like problems with freezing, but that can happen with any browser on any pc. For me, I'll probably stick with IE for the forseable future, but I'm not adverse to trying others out to see what they're like anyway.

I do not have too many problems with IE. I think as far as freezing and crashing go, Firefox is worse because it has crashed on me before for no reason at all. IE can be slow at times.. but usually it only crashes while attempting to load, or if I have too much going on at once.

I use firefox mainly. I like it because unlike explorer I can have several windows open & it doesn't crash on me. Also when I use sites like DonkeyMails and QuickRewards the tabs show a loading symbol so I know when they've loaded or when the timer is done ;0) Though I do like explorer's bookmarks, much easier to organize then Firefox's. Firefox has alot of extra add-on features but I don't really use them so I don't know much about them. HTH & Good Luck on your first paper!

My version of IE does all the same stuff as Firefox. It has tabs, it shows that a page is loading, and I currently have about 10 windows open and none of them are crashing. I just find IE easier to use, and I like to stick with what I know.

I like Firefox the best. I've used both Firefox and Internet Explorer and for some reason I just feel that Firefox does a better job for me, on my computer. Internet Explorer freezes up a lot more often for me. And also now that I'm so use to Firefox, the IE set up is foreign and looks weird to me! I just like what I'm use to, I guess. :-)

I use those two but I also like Safari (made by apple). The one advantage I've noticed is that firefox and safari both have spell checkers and internet explorer doesn't. I like the "memory" of these two also - those are the two difference I've noticed.

As for me, I have been using Firefox and Chrome for years...I have Internet Explorer out of list as they load the pages slower than the other browser, although they are somehow more stable...Frankly, I believe Firefox is better than Chrome in terms of stability...However, Chrome wins hands down if it is in terms of speed...Now I have been using Firefox 4.0 beta 8 for some days and I am impressed with the evolution of this browser, with cleaner interface and fonts...^__^
