Does Facebook pick ads for you?!?

I don't know about you, but whenever i'm on Facebook I always notice that the banner ads that they put on the top of some pages always seem to be related to what I've searched recently. For example, I was searching for laptops on Google and then when I went to Facebook, there were laptops advertised on the top of the screen. Has anyone else noticed this happening? Do you know if my theory is correct?
