Okay, So she has finally responded to the attacks from people and media. She gave a really good speech. She gave a great speech which is something that I like. I am not a fan of her but this speech was really good. She did come up to the media that they where involved in "Blood Libel" which is a old term used against Jews in the Dark Ages. She goes on to talk about the heated debates and thought it was great for her to bring up the fact that people use to shoot each other as a common practice to resolve political debates.
It was a great speech in my opinion so what do you think?

Can't wait to have a discussion on her video as it has started a slight controversy.

I thought her speech was articulate and well thought. She made very good points. It is too bad people dont actually listen to her words. This is a lesson for everybody. The comments following the video were very disturbing. If you hate her so much, why are they watching her video? Its very sad.

Yeah they seem to be going after her on the "Blood Libel" usage in the speech. I am not sure though as a Person on CNN I think a conservative brought up that other people have used it in speeches and the Jewish Community didn't have an issue or at least didn't raise an issue of its usage.

I listened to her words laglen and wasn't surprised. A leader would not have gone into attack mode...but that's all Palin knows and that's why she will never be a leader. The "blood libel" comment directed at the media was not well thought out and can only be described as yet another example of this woman's ignorance.

Thing is laglen, people are actually listening to her words and some just may be aping her actions! It is sad for her that her use of the phase "blood libel" was so twisted and out of context. I mean didn't she know that that charge was made against jewish people by christians?? For someone who in her own words, contemplates campaigning for the President of the United States, not to be able to correct a writer who makes such huge errors, because of her own ignorance ... just boggles my mind! Sure this phrase has been used since its horrible origination, however, it has been used contextually!

Sounds to me like you listened to her speech with an open mind. So many of her enemies pretended to misunderstand her very clear speech and its meaning just so they could take another shot at her in the media.
The point about political debates and how they were once resolved is well-taken. The rhetoric that everyone worries about is in some ways the natural language of politics. Modern politics are how we determine who gets to be rulers. In ancient times, this was settled through wars and conquests. Even the word "campaign" is a military term. All political terms were borrowed from the military and if they sound war-like, that's how they started. But no matter what terminology we use, we don't shoot people anymore to win political campaigns. Reasonable people realize that.

I did listen to her speech with an open mind. I still don't like her but this speech was a good one it did point the finger in the right direction to the Media that was making something from nothing. She looked well put together and seemed to have an feeling of being a professional. I even liked how she talked kindly about the President of the United States.
I still am not a fan of her but that is a completely different topic.

I think she did good. Better than I would have done. If people would have come out needlessly saiding I was responsible for the deaths of 6 poeple and the wounding of 13 more....well just say my response would not have been as nice as hers. I would have been offended and just plain mad at heck. I would have come out swinging. Holy Hell would have been brought down on their heads.
But then I have something of a temper which is why it is probly good that I am not in politics.
Poeple don't see to realize how serious that kind of accusation is...to call someone basically a murder. It IS libel. Not to mention Slander. YOu don't make those kinds of accusations lightly and you definately don't make them if you can't back it up. Which they can't. The people who ran around making those statements were very irresponsible.

Politicians usually are the best actors you can find.
Iam not much for politics at all.
