Without pointing me to the FAQ...

Am I not using the search right? This may seem ridiculous to you, but it is serious. I have never received any rewards for searching! I only search a couple times a day if I search at all on a given day and don't ever receive anything. Is there more to it?

You need to use Search more often. Rewards appear randomly with random amounts. I seem to get a reward after every 15 or 20 searches (though I haven't counted specifically). I use Search to research my responses to MyLot discussions, to research information for articles and for anything at all that I may need information on during the day.

Thanks owl! I should have known I could count on you! I was worried about abusing it by doing to many searches and apparently I wasn't giving myself a chance. Thanks for responding with something other than blabla FAQ like so many do.

I will always point someone to the FAQs if it's answered there because that is usually the best source for most information about MyLot. You can abuse the Search facility by searching too quickly and by not opening any pages given by it - in other words, just searching for searching's sake. If you get an 'abuse' notice, you will not be able to use the facility for a while. If you get too many abuse notices, you might lose your MyLot account but I never heard of anyone doing so, so I wouldn't worry too much so long as you aren't trying to 'game the system'!

Thanks for going into more detail as this is very useful. That's the type of information I was looking for.

I think the most probable reason is that not all sites pay Yahoo to be indexed by its search engine. So when we look for these sites Yahoo did not earn anything, As a result myLot does not earn anything. Therefore we do not get paid for it. It is only my theory but it does make business sense. On the other hand I may be completely wrong, that payment is made completely at random, without any other factors taken into account.

I imagine that MyLot calculate how much is earned altogether by using Yahoo as a search provider and just dole out random amounts at random intervals to those people who use the Search facility. I'm sure that it doesn't depend on how much each individual search earns.

Once again the owl is awesome! Thanks friend, it seems more legitimate that way. I imagined it to be like a slot machine without a jackpot, LOL.

I don't know if your right or wrong but it is something to ponder. It also makes perfect sense.

I see you got your answers right away. The truth is, I almost never use it, because in all the time we have had it, I have been rewarded three times. Others tell me they get rewarded daily. Still others reported "rewards" of zero cents. I found a search site that pays, again randomly, but several times a day, so I search there. Actually, many of the earning sites I belong to want you to search, so I picked the site that rewards me the best.

It is the swag, as you say. I redeem regularly for five dollar amazon gift cards. I earn my points searching for the most part. I have done as much as $15 Amazon in a month. You can get PayPal as well, it just takes more SB's.

LOL The swag was the first site I joined when looking for ways to earn money because it's easy, free, and had a lot of payment proofs on YouTube. I use it twice a day plus the noso and poll!

The others are right, it may take some time before you get a reward. So just keep searching when you need to find something and you will get one in the end.

I'm sure after you read all the responses and information from other mylotters you will realized how to earn rewards from search. The bottom line or key for rewards from search engine is OPEN SEARCH (always and open to use it in your searching for various things)... see you around

I don't have a blog! Thought about it many times but there are so many and multiple for every subject imaginable. It's like creating a new soda that you want to compete with coke and pepsi.
