I tried visiting Hongkong a few years back, and I'd observed that most Chinese have smooth, healthy skins. I can help myself to ask our tourist guide, if this is really common to Chinese and our tourist told me that it is true and their secret is drinking tea. Chinese are traditional tea drinkers. They always have tea everytime the eat. During our stay in Hongkong, every restaurant we went, served tea before and after you eat. And since our tourist guide told us that this tea is the reason why Chinese have healthy skins, so I drink it even I don't use to drink them.

Well I don't really mean all the Chinese, but most of those I saw in Hong Kong and China have this skin.
I don't get you second paragraph? I am really a curious guy. I even asked our tourist guide where does Jacky Chan leave. But unfortunately he doesn't know.

Hi jamed!
Tea has its nutritional benefits but I don't think it is tea alone. I think it is also more on the kind of food they eat. Like they are more vegetarian than meat eaters.
Have a nice day.

So that's it. . tea is their secret to having a smooth skin. There are a lot of tea though, red tea, green tea, chamomile tea to name a few.
Have you asked what kind of tea in particular? I am interested too. LOL

Well I guess that could be a part of the reason. I would have thought that it is the fact that they eat more vegetables, and actually the antioxidents in tea are like those in vegetables. I drink black and green tea, some, and herbal as well. I guess I could step it up and drink more of it. Maybe before and after each meal as well. Thanks for the tip.

Hi jamed!
It is a news to me that taking tea before and after meals could be the reason for a healthy skin. I think besides tea, the secret of healthy skin could be their diet, environment and hereditary factors.

That's interesting. It must be how they take their tea. I am in the UK and drink loads of tea but in the traditional British style with milk. My skin is OK, I don't think it looks smooth and healthy.. Perhaps it is a different sort of tea I need to be drinking. _Derek

I don't think it is the tea that enhances their skin. I believe one of the reasons is their kind of weather. Look and compare them with the people from Baguio City where the weather almost resembles that of Hong Kong. They also have smooth, pinkish skin. So I believe it is the weather that makes their skin nice.

That's interesting information, I thought the chinese have great skin but it's their natural skin just like every race has its own unique skin color. I think I should get back to that doctor who advised me not to take tea since it has some components that would hinder the absorption of iron into my blood which would therefore prevent me from gaining weight.

I had no idea! That is so interesting!
But now that you mention it... I have never seen a Chinese person with bad skin actually. So I guess it could be true!

hehe , as a Chinese, I would like to say the weather , geographic position and the most important, the food habbit play a dominant role on our skin.
actually, if you have chance to China, I stongly suggest you going to the south. you will find that the girls there have perfect skin.
besides tea, I do think rice is also important.

hi jamed28,
I learned many things from Chinese when my Chinese friend visited me here in the Philippines. Yes, they love tea very much. Actually, before he went back to China, he gave me a bag of tea to drink. Aside from that, I also found out that they love to drink hot water rather than cold water. However, here in our house, we love more to drink cold water especially soft drinks. I did not ever see him drinking soft drink. He just drink hot water or tea most of the time. Chinese also love fruits. Whenever my Chinese friend and I will go out for shopping, he always look for fruits. I also have a Chinese classmate before and she loves to drink water all of the time. She has a very healthy skin.

Yeah, even the Japanese has a smooth skins. It looks really flawless! right? hmmm.. yes, One of this reason is the tea in their every meals . And also the climate in their country because they always wear jacket etc. to cover their skin from the sunlight. right? maybe that is also why they have those flawless look.

It's because of there food and nature. The weather helps too so they have a nice and white skin. They like drinking tea, eating so many vegetables, fish and fresh fruits.
