When I was just about 7 or 9yrs old,I joined a singing contest only because my friends want me to. Luckily,I won, lol! I got the third place! It was really unforgettable since I really have a "stagefright" but I was able to overcome it through the encouragements my friends gave me.
November last year,I happen to join a promo of my baby's favorite playhousedisney channel regarding Mickey Mouse' birthday celebration. And wow,my baby was so fortunate to win a prize, yahu! We were able to receive it in time for her birthday, good timing! It really made my baby happy! That's my very reason why I joined the promo,to make my baby happy!
How about you,did you join a promo or a contest?

greetings! when i was in high school, used to join a lot of contests, even at the national level. luckily, i won some of them. when you were younger, you tend to do it to prove yourself to everyone around you, to earn their respect. it also helped a lot in making friends from all over. nowadays, the only contests i join are online raffles, LOL. sometimes i win so it's not so bad.

I haven’t entered any contests lately and the only one I recall was being a part of a drawing competition when I was about ten and collecting third prize. When I was a one year old I apparently won a baby contest! That one I definitely do not remember; my mother told me that she sent my photo off to a competition run by a baby biscuit company and I won a giant inflatable Mickey Mouse doll which was way bigger than I was; all I have is a photo of me and Mickey and no recollection whatsoever!

Hi mtrguanlao,
Sorry, never been a contestant in any singing or such contests but yes, I always did the background works on many of these occasions.
And yes, I did participate in organizing some charity and awareness camps when I was at college.

Well growing up i was a dancer and did some talent shows for school here and there but not winning anything sometimes because there wasnt anything to win as it was just for fun. Also did some talent contests while on vacations and those were fun and of course always coming out on top was really fun and i enjoyed that too.
I also did my Dance Competitions trough out the state where i live and those are very hard and sometimes disappointing at times when you dont even win bronze but its a lesson learned of course. Those were tough at times but i enjoyed every second i could when i was dancing.
Also joined alot of pagents growing up and the girls i did pagents with have grown up to be stars or even on Miss America at times or once i saw a girl i did a pagent with on So You Think You Can Dance, so im actually really glad i did everything i did when growing up. yes i did win some pagents here and there and those are also difficult but very fun as well.

Yes! I also joined several promos before and luckily, I won to some of them. When Wendy's(Famous hamburger chain) had a promo on their store about what's their loyal patrons think about that certein food chain branch, I joined and after about two weeks, I won a gift certificate plus a grocery gift check worth 50$.
When I was 18 years of age, I joined a promo of one recording company here in the Philippines as well for a chance to sing live with the Air Supply band here in our country, and since they are my favorite, I joined and I won. Its just so hard because the venue of the concert was too crowded and it really makes me feel nervous that time knowing that im not a good singer. Have a nice day ahead!

I am not really lucky at this so I don't usually join such contests. I am really shy so the thought of performing in public just gives me the scare. Well last Christmas we attended my son's Christmas play and the school sold some tickets. At the end of it was a raffle. I waited until they announced the winners while my husband and kid queued to get some food. Well I haven't heard our number so I guess we didn't win. So I totally forgot about it until, my son's teacher informed us that we won first place. Maybe I was too hungry that I wasn't able to hear it clearly. The prize wasn't that much but I am happy that for the first time, I actually won. Congrats too for winning!

I remember joining a dance contest when I was in grade 3. Although there were two of us who danced, I remember I was a little bit scared and shy. We lost. But it was indeed a memorable experience.

I always join, but I never win. Whenever I go shopping or just buy groceries and the store attendant would tell me the I have a raffle ticket that I can drop in the already filled drop boxes, I shun it. Because never before did I win in raffles or promos. So I ask someone to write his/her name on my ticket, and ask him to drop it. Even when there was the big news about the 700million pesos (or around $16M) winnable in the lottery, I didn't dare myself to join the long queue because I know that will never happen.

Hello lizmik! Welcome here!
Well, there's a saying how can you win if you don't join right? Don't get tired of joining in raffle promos, who knows, you might win next time!Whenever I join promos in supermarkets,I usually don't expect that I will win 'cause sometimes it's disappointing to know you lost,I just join for fun at first and if I win, wow! Lucky me!

I have joined a few over the years & have lost more than I have won...I remember winning first place in a colouring in competition when I was 7 & won a bank account with $30 deposit. About 14 years ago, I won a competition through That's Life magazine here in Australia & won a tontine bedding package worth $600...there are a little more that I have won but these are the 2 that are memorable for me & the second is the most I have ever won in dollar value.

Interesting. That tells me you can sing! hehehe... I have never joined a contest at all. My voice is only for karaoke bars hahaha! Stage fright is something that I could not overcome. Even when I was in high school. Even as simple as talking in front.
