You missed a top Country in the event. India :). Yes, Finally India managed to qualify for a major soccer tournament after a long long time. Of course, we got thrashed 4-0 by Australia in the first match, but we are just happy to be there and for the experience.
Go India Go :)
Cheers!

Congratulation to India for qualifying in this edition of Asian Cup, Ram.
I do hope that one day my country (Malaysia) would qualify too. Its being too long since the last time they qualify for this competition (on merit and not as a host). The last time they qualify is for the 1980 edition in Kuwait.

A couple of days started the 15th edition of the Asian Football Cup. The tournament takes place the second time in Qatar, the first time this happen in 1988. The competition consists of four groups of four teams each, qualifying the first two quarters.Weird tiebreaker system in the event of a tie on points. The second is the criterion for direct matches between the teams are tied.I do not know who will win, but the important thing is that you have the right to participate in the Confederations Cup as a representative of Asia.Have a nice day!

I admit that Japan is my favourite team in the Asian Cup,that's maybe because I had the chance to see matches from J-league on Eurosport2 and I think the level of the game is good and they have quality players in their squad.I've just watched the game between Japan and Syria;they struggled, but eventually they won a difficult match;I hope to see them in the final.

Hi adhyz,
It is hard to predict the winner for this edition. Even the top contender like Saudi Arabia already out of the competition after collecting their second defeat at the competition.
But I do hope that the underdog would win this tournament again after Iraq did it at the last edition. It is too boring to watch the same team win this tournament over and over again. I hope the team like Jordan/Syria, Bahrain, North Korea and the host, Qatar can win the trophy. This would give an extra motivation for other small team to try their best to copy these team result in the future.
