Breaking news! One of China's women tennis player Li Na had got through to the final of the Sydney International after straight sets win over Bojana Jovanovski. Eighth seeded Li, will be bidding for her fourth career title in Friday's final against the winner of the other semi-final between two-time champion Kim Clijsters of Belgium or unseeded Russian Alisa Kleybanova. This is indeed a good start for China's woman tennis and most of all, the hardworking prolific Li Na who, I hope would eventually emerge the winner of the tournament. So, good luck Li Na and China! Without even having to think, I already see that China have totally no hope of winning a grand slam this year. Yes, in the future maybe, but now is just not the time yet. Li Na and Zheng Jie are no doubt two of the top Asian tennis players at the moment but they are just inconsistent. Zheng Jie has got her peak period when she made it to semi final of Wimbledon in 2008 and Australian Open last year but she's just average or not in good form most of the time of her career, and worst still, her ranking has now slipped to No.45 and I can see that soon she'll be out of Top 50 or possibly Top 100 if she continue to dipped in form. Li Na, on the other hand is somehow similar, but just that she's on a better side as compared to that of Zheng Jie. Just like last year, after a great start in Australia, she dipped in form and exit early in the following tournament she played, losing to players who are way her juniors and with ranking way below her.

China will sooner or later win a grand slam title.Only a bit of more patience and the time will come when asia will have other good players which have won grand slam titles and except chan.Li was really close to winning it,but clijsters played really well in the final, and there was not so much chance for lee to try to break her serve and win a set.

Well skysuccess, I think your prayers are going to be answered shortly. Li Na is just two steps from winning the first singles grand slam. Every body thought, it will be India's Sania Mirza who will win a grand slam. Unfortunately the early success got to her head, and she is now a shadow of her old self. I feel, that her career is over, and it will be players like Li Na, who will be the future winners from Asia.

More breaking news. Li Na beat Clijsters in the final. Clijsters had 5-0 lead in the first set and then went flat and played poorly after that. Li Na is good but I don't think she will win the Australian Open.

greetings! li na would be asia's (not just china's) best bet to win a grand slam. however, i attended the hongkong classic almost two weeks ago and team asia-pacific lost most of its matches. there are still a lot of top players outside asia so this year's winner could be clijsters, venus, henin, zvonareva or wozniacki.

I am not surprised to it. Today there are several good female tennis players in China. The impressive ones will be Li Na and Zheng Jie for me. And I remember that Chinese female tennis players seems to win the Olympics. So I won't be so surprised if Li Na won in the Australian Open. I love China
