Guinea pigs. To get, or not to get?

Hello fellow animal lovers, I was on Kijiji the other night, and came across an add for a free male guinea pig with cage etc. The funny thing is, I was already looking at breeders websites around me. I have had Guinea pigs, (or Cavies) many times in my lifetime and have come to love them personally. Their little noises and squeaks and purrs. I miss having a cavy in my home! The problem is, in the fall, I will be returning to college to further my education in the Social Worker field. I am wondering if I am jumping into something that I may not have the time for. However, I have had them before, even while obtaining my last college diploma and have managed. Fellow pet lovers, I need your opinion. Would you cave and cater to yourself and adopt the animal that needs a home? Or should I let go of it and focus on school?
