Im looking for a legit data entry site as a part time job and something I can do at home. But it seems to me that most of the sites I check always ask for an investment or some sort of payment. I really dont want to take the risk of investing at $50 and it will be for nothing. What do you say guys? Do you know any legit sites?

Strangely enough, I tried finding some tonight, but had no luck. Most of the sites wanted me to pay sign-up fees in order to access everything needed to earn the money. Most sites that ask for money are scams, so I declined each of these offers. I really wish someone could tell me a legit site lol...

@ p3ks626, does it have to be just data entry? I have found many real companies that hire call center operators to work from their homes. Since most of them require typing, that could be considered data entry. Since these are legit companies, they offer paid training as well. I am also researching to find more "data entry" jobs and may find them soon. Just check the top banner on my profile. I update the site weekly with new companies. Good luck with your search!

Odesk doesnt work for me. I dont like that site cause its too complicated. Of course the site is legit but its not really that "user-friendly". There are a lot of people like me out there who doesnt know how to start and odesk is something that cant help you with that.

I also wanted to try some data entry jobs but according to most people, data entry jobs aren't really a good choice for extra income. If it's not your money, most of your time and effort will be wasted. Some data entry sites would not require you to pay any registration fee or such just to get paid or to be given project to work on but instead they will just give you data entry jobs and after you have finished it, they just say that the work done was not good enough. Therefore, they are not gonna pay you for the finished job that you have submitted. Since then, I didn't tried to look for data entry jobs anymore.
There also online jobs for freelancers where they post different types of jobs like programming, virtual assistance, and of course data entry jobs too like encoding, editing, and many more. The hard part on these for beginners is that these jobs are not given but rather posted by employers. So you can expect a competition among other people (workers) who are interested to get the job. To get the job, you have to make bid for the job and convince the employer that you are the right person to do the job that they want.
You can check vWorker.com and read the FAQs and tips for more detailed explanations on how it actually works. There are also other sites like these and they don't actually require a fee to get a job but rather they only take a percentage from your income for every job you have done. -)

i was also thinking of looking for the legit data entry online..there is also a wide competition for that kind of job since its just an easy job but there is really no assurance that they will pay you..so everything will be gone to waste..
