Is that too risky to let someone else to drive your car, while they don't have insurance on you? I have this dilemma once. A friend of mine want to borrow my car, since his car wasn't working. I ask him why he wants to borrow it, he told me because one of his co - worker stuck in the highway, and if I can let him borrow my car to pick him up. I was battle within myself. Should I be selfish, for the sake of protecting my own property. Or should be friendly? At last, I let him borrow my car, and I was anxious about it. I keep look out the window and hope that he bring back my car safe. When I saw my car park in the parking lot once again, I relieved.

I would probably let a friend borrow my car if it were a necessity or an emoergency. I would probably worry until i saw my car safely back in my driveway. You just never know what could happen.

I understand your predicament but you should have gone and drove or said no because think how you would feel if someone in a uninsured borrowed car happen to have a accident and kill a member of your family i no this sounds vert drastic but it could happen how would you feel then that thay had no insurance?I am just saying as a reality check as we should never say it would never happen.

No, but then again, I wouldn't let my friends borrow anything. Much less a toothbrush, never mind a car. Just too many bad experiences about people taking my things, saying that they will return then and they come back either in a horrid state or they do not come back at all. Plus there is too much of a chance that it could get wrecked. There is just something about the fact that the best driver in the world could be driving your car and it could get wrecked, because that is just the way the world tends to work at times. So no I would not allow anyone to drive my car but me.

It depends on the friend. There are some people I would let borrow my car in a heart beat, because I know they are responsible. If something did happen I know it is not their fault because they are good drivers.
It is my understanding that whoever is driving a car is insured if the car is insured. You should check with your insurance company about that.

Hmm well when it comes to borrowing and lending stuff to your friends it has both positive sides and negative.
well the positive side is obvious, you help a friend in need.
But the negative side is that when you lend something you have the risk that he or she is can't give you back in the near future. So this might create some tension between friends which can lead to a argument etc.
So although it is your friend, i don't think that it is wise to borrow your car to him because it would be a shame if something happens which will put your friendship in danger.

I guess, in your case you let him borrow your car because you know him to be a good driver. In addition yoou know that if in case something will happen to it, he will be responsible enough to have it repaired on his own expense.
But if it will be ,me on your shoes, i will let him go with me, while i drive the car. This is to ensure that it will be safe from accidents. At least, if something happens to it will be myself to be blamed.

I think you should borrow your car to your friend and your worry is not necessary and your friend will drive your car safely and then back, because it is one's responsibily to keep the things that borrowed from others, even when he make your car broke down,he will manage to fix it well,so don't worry.
