I love dogs because its a man's bestfriend however, it is a big responsibility.its just like taking care a baby. You have to feed them, make sure that they're comfortable as well.I want to have one but i dont know if i cant take care of them and give the necessary attention that they need. Can you tell me your good and bad experiences that you had in taking care of a dog before i decide to have one.

No one will know better than you if you are ready for a dog. Maybe you could start off with another animal, one that still takes responsibility, but not as much (and not for as long). My advice to you would be to adopt a mouse from PetSmart (or you could check local animal shelters, they have critters too). Mice only have a lifespan of 2-5 years (depending on the care they receive). You have to clean their cages about once a week, so that'd be a good way to test if you can stick to your responsibilities as a pet owner. And while mice do need attention, they don't need as much as dogs. I have 3 mice, and I can just put them in my shirt while I do homework or watch tv...they either run around or sleep. So it gives them the contact they need. And when you can't hold the mouse, it'll be more than content to run in it's wheel, eat or sleep. Just a thought!!! :)

Hey! Sorry I just wanted to add that it is really good that you are actually admitting that it might be the right time for you to get a dog because you don't know if you're ready for the responsibility. SO many people run out and get a dog because they think they want one too, then end of dumping them or surrendering them because they're 'just too much work.' Drives me crazy! So good for you!!

I have never had any bad experiences with taking care of my dogs. Yes, you have to make sure they have food & water, let them outside when they need to go potty, unless you have a doggie door, etc but they are fun! I wouldn't trade my dogs for anything! They are a big part of my family. Just like one of my kids.
