Hi srinivas2036, before having the convenience of sending email and sms I liked to in close contact with my loved ones and good friends writing letter. Nowadays I find it's very much handy and fast to contact them online or on phone. I don't want to take the trouble to write letter in letter paper, to buy envelope and stamp. And also to dump the letter into the post box. It's annoying as well we have to wait for days or even longer time to get a reply letter from the sender in distant country. At present we could get the reply instantly if both party are online at the same time.
I still keep the adorable well designed writing paper pad. They look so sweet in their respective color in blue, green and pink, .... Might be I would like to write on them if I have a sudden impulse who knows ...
Happy posting

I still write letters. I write regularly to a few friends who live some distance away, email and phone are fine but you cannot beat opening a handwritten letter from a freind or loved one, it is so much more personal. I think it is a pity that more people do not write letters by hand but I suppose we are surrounded by technology so that is wat people choose to use.

I love writing letters generally and I think that it's a good skill to have. I also like gadgets and technology and I know that this technology is making life so much easier for us. I think it's important to have a balance though. I think it's still a nice idea to write the occasional letter and then send it via post. I think that there will be a number of people that will favour writing a letter and posting it above all other means.
I still remember how to fold a letter properly before placing it securely in the envelope!Andrew

Greetings!
I still have but I don't do it as for now because I don't know if they would appreciate it. I just make small notes whenever I borrow something from them so that when they got their things, they would read my message "Thank You" or sometimes, I make letters whenever there is an affair like birthdays and i give it to my friend. I also write those things I can't say in words. :) Anyway, thanks for sharing, happy mytlotting! :)

It is funny in many ways. I enjoy writing in various forms. However, there is something about writing a letter that I never liked. Even before e-mail. If I wanted to send something to someone, I would send them a card and maybe write a small message of a couple of sentences to indicate that everything was going fine with me and life was great.
Still as you said, there are other methods. Letter writing has become a lost art all things considered. I doubt that anyone will even write a formal letter about fifty years from now. Then again, who is to know. There is just so much can happen, that perhaps there will be an attempt to make letter writing great. Still e-mails, phones, and everything else leads to other ways to communicate. Plus the fact that I don't have to deal with my old friends at the United States Postal Service.

The necessity to write letters diminished because of increased facilities as you pointed.
