yes I have. I know quite a lot about veal actually.
in most countries, the production of a calf for veal involves putting it in a crate where it can't walk, turn around or even lie down so that it doesn't develop any muscle tone to keep it tender and pale. and then of course being killed.
which I can't see any vegetarian actually approving of.
I am not a vegetarian, but I can understand the perspective of a vegan more than a vegetarian. if you believe killing animals is always wrong then you wouldn't support the dairy industry.
interestingly, in the UK, the crate system is now illegal. but the campaigns against crating veal calves had such an impact that the market for veal in the UK is very small.
which means that there are not many producers of veal in the UK.
those that exist raise the calves either free range or in a barn where they are fed a mixed diet of dairy and solids. the free rangers sometimes even get to carry on suckling from their mothers.
unfortunately most dairy calves do not meet this fate. they are either killed at birth (and they're the luckier ones) and some are even shipped abroad from a country where crating is illegal to one where crating is still legal, and crate raised.
if you use dairy products, you have to consider the potential fate of the male calves. who are, if they're VERY lucky, raised as Rose veal. if they're not very very lucky, then they are killed immediately or worse still loaded on a lorry and taken abroad to live out the rest of their short lives in a box barely bigger than they are.
so I know about veal. I'd only ever eat veal that wasn't produced in a crated system.

I do think so, sometimes. Although I quite admire their diet and their beliefs, it's quite hard for me to not eat meat... But I think the real healhty diet is eating a bit of everything- we need the whole food pyramid to stay healthy...

We people have different preferences when it comes to food. We may be vegetarians, meat lover or others. But most important is that we are able to know which foods are healthy to our body and we eat in balance. On my opinion, eating vegetables alone would not be enough because there are nutrients that we do not get from vegetables alone..

i believe that we all have the right to decide on what we're going to eat. i don't thing that that they are exaggerating. vegetables are indeed good for the body. i guess most vegans preferred to be so because they are also animal lovers and the are against killing animals for food. i still think though that there is no perfect diet. whatever diet we have depends on our personal preferences and culture.

Vegetarians are 'fake' : in order to verify this let's look at the reasons that one would become a vegetarian or vegan. The main reason I can think of to become a vegetarian is because you believe in animal rights. So you don't like how cows, chickens and fish are treated when they are bred to be eaten by humans... That's fair, I understand that animal rights is a good argument. VEGETARIANS: If you really believe in animal rights-then you shouldn't be against the way cows and chickens are treated when they are bred or raised for their by products( milk, eggs and cheese) So when I see a vegetarian eating an egg, I tell them that they are FAKE and don't really have real morals or values!!

I think that properly handled it can be a very healthy diet.
people really do eat far too much meat. it's just another ingredient, and yet people think they'll feel deprived if they eat a meal without meat. but that's like saying they need to eat rice everyday or eat turbot every day. there's a lot of different food out there, we don't need to eat meat every single day. it's not healthy to do so.
I do eat meat, but not every day. it's better to have a good quality piece of meat maybe a few times a week than to have factory farmed chicken or cheap mince as part of every single meal.

Hi,didi, i think maybe there are people who are totally vegetarians. And i also believe lots of them are keep healthy bodies. Because in principle chinese monks are not allowed to kill animals and eat meat. (It was very strict in ancient times). And among these monks, some got very strong body and have kungfu, of course they tend to live a longer life than others.
I do thin vegetables and fruits and good for health. But personally speaking, i don't like live a life without any meat. lol. so i think those who recommend completely vegetarian are a little exaggerating.

I just think that the vegetarians may be kinder since they don't eat any meats. However, I don't think it is the healthiest diet because I think the balanced diet is much more important for our health. Namely we shall eat more vegetables and fruits. However, we also need to eat some meats, milk, cheese etc. to make sure we have enough nutrition.
I love China

I do not think they are exaggerating but just because it is the healthiest does not mean eveyone wants to do it. Everyone has their views on what is healthy and what is healthy. There are a lot of other foods out there that are considered healthy besides vegetables, it is all in how you cook it.

I don't think it is exaggerated. However, I think people on both sides of the issue can exaggerate their own facts because they feel they have something to prove. We all have to decide what works best for our own bodies and do that!

I think being vegetarian is nothing bad, also eating meat is nothing bad and what somebody should condemn. Myself, I feel one should eat fruits, vegetables, roots, berries and other green things that come from garden or forest. Also one should eat meat of his/her preference, be it red or white, fish or game. I think that would be most natural considering we have done without fries and burgers (even if they do taste wonderful), floury or dairy products for ages just fine. Um, that sort of thinking goes back to stone age doesn't it? I guess I'm just old-fashioned, lol.

As long as they are taking supplements like iron tablets to replace the vitamins lost from not eating meat then they could be very healthy, I would not say healthier though as everyone's diet is different whether they eat meat or not. Personally I love meat and could not do without it!

i don't think they are exaggerating because that's what they think is best for them. however, depending on just vegetables can be healthy, yes that could be true, but our body needs protein and other essential vitamins and minerals that vegetables lack. so what our body needs is a balanced dieting, when choosing the right food, it doesn't always mean we should always eat "vegetables" alone. see you around!
