In a religion unless you are totally brainwash and believe everything it has to say or you are strongly faithful, etc you will believe what it is going to tell you. Do you believe everything that your religion has told you? Do you know the roots of your religion, or do you care to know it t all?

It is not so much what you believe or how you believe as what you do with this belief. If you believe that your god is a good and loving god and that he wishes well for all people, you will most likely feel that way toward your fellow man. If your god is a strong vengeful god who tells you to control the world then you will probably go out and do what he says. This is happening right now in our world and it is destroying people all over the world. It is very sad to watch fanatics taking over the lives of people who did not see it coming.
As for myself, Yes, I do know the roots of my religion. I know the roots of most religions. I am very interested in such things. I do not follow anything blindly. I reject that which is idiocy and fanatical.

Actually Buddhism is NOT a religion..its a philosophy for living. Its a spiritual path. Its in some ways I suppose a lifestyle but its never been, is not today nor will it ever be a religion.

i hope u understand if there is only one God then he must have only one ideology.
Then Why these so many religions teaches different things?? enforces certain limitations in our activities in the name of religion??
I would care less about any religion if i know what i want is for a good reason.

I took the world religions class so I had the chance to get exposed what you are saying. Often times I know more than the people I talk or ask about their religion but sometimes its the other way.
Do you know your religion?

There are so many things that I do not believe. There are so many practices that disgust me. Further I do not believe in forced faith, or faith instilled by promising material benefits. It only belittles the human values.

Give me a few of what you don't believe in since there are many things you don't believe in.

I do not believe in the Bible verse, "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him." (Re 1:7)
Jesus would come when the people would be under clouds of gloom. He would not come on the clouds as Bible says.
