i can relate to this i would never smoke in front of jamuls' mom ever she strikes fear into the hearts of delinquents like us heck, i believe even manny pacquiao would cower and fight with 3 mexicans with no hands before he smokes in front of jamuls' mom

Believe me, if your mother is a non smoker then she will know that you smoke! She will have smelt it on your clothes, your hair, your breath and she is probably waiting for you to admit that you smoke! I smoke too and I know all the health implications but I enjoy smoking and am honest enough to say that I don't want to give up. The more people tell me to give up, the less likely I am to do so. I never, ever smoke around children or in a non smoker's presence. I have a friend who is 20+ years older than you and she has never admitted to her 80 year old mother that she smokes, so you are not alone! I think it is probably a respect thing rather than fear.

I think it's absolutely normal. The same thing happened to me and my mother - I smoked in front of her only on very, very special occasions - for instance, when we were on long trips together, or during my own birthday parties. I simply didn't want to hurt her feelings even more; I knew she disapproved, and smoking in front of her seemed like twisting the knife in the wound. Just don't forget to tell your mother when you quit - or just when you make the first attempts to quit. I bet she'll be really happy and supportive of you.

I am smoking too and as much as possible I don't want my mother to see me smoking. But she knows that I am smoking. I feel shy, imagining I smoke in front of her. She always reminds me of smoking is not good for me and other side effects of it ;)

eventhough its your freedom to smoke as much as you want, i would lik you to ask you to stop smoking as early as possible, as i know stopping it 'immediately' is not possible for long time smokers.leave aside the financial matters, that this much $ is lost daily due to smoking, but think about the impact smoking can leave on your life, at a later stage, if not now. imagine, if you stop smoking there would be no more tensions about hiding your habit to your mom or your girlfriend's mom at all. Moreover if you kick the butt, there would no other person happier than your mom and dont you want your mom to be happy??? at last i would like to ask something......What is so special about smoking???when you try to inhale the smoke, all you end up do is coughing and get a burning sensation down till your lungs....

I would say that it was out of respect. My daughter will soon be 20 and I know that she smokes, but she never does it in front of me as she knows that I do not approve. I am hoping that she will quit soon because it is not healthy for her. Her boyfriend smokes too and I wish they would both quit.

I think that they might know that you smoke already because smokers always have that smell of smoke not a very pleasant smell either I don't really know why people smoke though. I have heard that it makes you guys relax, but I will never try it maybe you should cut down a bit on smoking so that you won't smell like it and maybe put on some colone. My professor used to be a smoker, but he quit because he knew that it was killing him anyway I think that your mom just wants you to live a healthy long life.

Yeah, I don't even let my family see me smoke too. But I quite smoking just recently... I also think that it is out of respect, some wmen really do not like smoking, so before I hide form them when I smoke...You should really quit now before it's too late.
