The English language is spoken in England, the USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Sometimes there can be a word that is used in one of the countries. For example I say my swimming costume but my Australian friend would say my bathers. I know that in Australia there are aboriginal people. I don't know why the American would use the term primitive. Maybe the au pair came from a very wealthy background in America and in England she met some people that looked primitive. They might have been homeless people for example. That is my guess and I am an English person.

Hi, it is not clear from your question who called who primitive? Is this Americans calling the English primitive or the other way round? From which country in the Americas did the people come? all the best urban
